Lovely little find nestled into several shops on the front of Ashurst road. Great seats Infront of the fire.I believe a small menu is typically a good sign and this place conforms to my belief. Lovely food on two occasions. Nice coffee too. Cakes look amazing and the couple next to me certainly seemed to be enjoying theirs. Apparently the doughnuts are the ones to try.My only point of concern is the high chairs which aren't very comfortable. However we will be back.

Merritts Coffee Lounge is a friendly cafe in Ashurst. With its roaring fire and comfy seating, it’s a great place to have a coffee and warm up after a winter walk.The menu offers a range of homemade brunch items, as well as delicious cakes. Although it didn’t look exciting, the omelette I had for lunch was absolutely fantastic. My husband had the skillet crumpet with trout, and raved about it.The service was very friendly and welcoming, and it was a great place to start or end a range of lovely New Forest walks. Overall I had a great visit, and if in the area again I would 100% return.

First time here and will definitely come again. Lovely atmosphere / decor and very friendly staff. Both breakfasts were delicious and larger than usual portions. I had bacon and waffles and other meal was the main breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Didn’t end up getting served as it was apparently too busy. Turned away without an apology.I’m sure the food is great but when the service is average it counts for nothing. Still room for improvement.
