Went for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. As we entered the pub staff were on the ball straight away, no waiting around. We were shown to our table in the restaurant and asked if we had any food allergies, then sat down to look at menu. All staff very attentive and knowledgeable . We both had the Sunday roast and a side of cauliflower cheese which was delicious, the roast as well was delicious. To full up for a dessert but a very good choice to choose from, glad I didn’t have one, as I saw a dessert being brought out and it was quiet big, so it would of been wasted as was full from the dinner. We had a very pleasant time and would highly recommend and will be returning.

We usually really enjoy coming here as food and service has previously been fantastic enabling a great dining experience on a Sunday.We were informed no ‘trio of meat option’ yet all three meats on the menu on the Sunday unsure how this works if unable to offer the trio choice at 2pm.The lack of competence from front of house staff who were often very noticeably crowded at the bar on phones.To being completely ignored and having to leave our table to pay our bill with a small child is not good customer service.Slow on clearing table in a near empty restaurant.

We were at The Bird in Hand for a Celebration of Life following my mum's funeral. We were served a hot & cold buffet with free-flowing coffee, tea, and bar drinks. There were about 60 guests, many of whom commented on how delicious the food was, and that the service was second-to-none. I'm so grateful to Donna, Brandon, and the entire team for making us all feel so welcome at such a difficult time.

We had a lovely meal here in-between Christmas and the new year. Service was good, we were directed to a table of our choice and provided with meals.We ordered hot drinks and chose a haddock goujon sandwich and chunky chips plus a burgerMeals were delivered quickly and piping hot.Food was delicious and we really enjoyed our visit here

Went for dinner with my fiancé for the evening, as soon as we walked in the staff were welcoming and friendly. We got seated at a lovely table for two in the restaurant area which had a lovely atmosphere. A waitress came over shortly after to take our order and checked for dietaries which my partner did have. We had the confit duck and turkey burger which were both incredible! The duck was beautifully cooked and very well presented, my partner had the turkey burger which came with its own little jug of gravy, which she thought was delicious. We had multiple festive cocktails throughout our meal which were presented so nicely and equally as tasty. The whole evening from start to finish was lovely, all staff were attentive and caring throughout. Well done to all

We had a meal here last Saturday and it was amazing, we ate from a well crafted A La Carte menu, I ate the pastrami salmon starter, pork belly and Cremuex and my daughter ate the terrine, salmon and pavlova. This food us a hidden gem, having eaten in Michelin starred restaurants in the Midlands this was in excess of thar, the styling, prep, look and delivery of exceptional taste was put off this world! Of you do one thing this year then eat at this place, beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and really kind,funny and attentive front of house staff. What's not to love and the Chef on the night had it totally covered each dish was exceptional x well done bird in hand total hidden Gem xxx thanks so much fir an amazing experience xx ?

Another really great lunch ... last time I had the Venison pie and this time we both had the Leek, Chicken & Bacon pie which was superb again. This was accompanied by some lovely veg, hispi cabbage etc and chips and individual gravy boats. Amazing quality and at a really reasonable price. Loved it!
Food was incredible. Staff were very attentive, polite, and professional. Had our anniversary meal here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be returning for meals and drinks in future.

Wow! What a welcome! Popped in with my Dad for a cuppa this morning. Really charming staff. Enjoyed the Autumn sunshine in the garden while we were waiting for our car to be MOT'd nearby. Couldn't fault anything about the visit. Now planning to go back for lunch when we have a bit more time. Our interaction with the staff was absolutely everything it should have been and more. Two VERY happy customers!Parking: Loads of parking space.

Visited with our friends who have been before. This was my wife's and my first time. The two ladies ordered fish cakes which were delicious. However the plates were ice cold and so the fishcakes went cold very quickly. My friend ordered a rump steak medium rare which was almost impossible to cut. The manage replaced this with a fresh one which was considerably better and succulent. My steak and ale pie was delicious.Sadly as we were hoping to return for a colleague's birthday we will not be doing so now. Service was excellent and courteous. Ale was good

Mum and girlfriend had cod n chips. I had steak and ale pie. Al gorgeous. Loved the mash and shredded cabbage.Ginger cake with ice-cream and salted caramel really nice too. And a nice pint of Wallop ?
