Always a good atmosphere and friendly staff whenever I visit, which is about once per month. Never takes long to be served at the bar, and the food I've had has come out quickly and been of good quality. Only criticism is the cost of some things, such as soft drinks. I regularly have to be the driver, and I found it a bit steep paying like £4.35 for a pint of orange juice and lemonade when my friends are paying between £5 to £6 for a pint various draughts.

Sunday roast consisting of one beef and one lamb.Veg was unimaginative. Rock hard boiled carrots, fine beans and baby corn (baby corn on a roast is massively questionable). Once again the Yorkshire had a burnt taste to it.This is the 2nd time we have visited in the last 5 months and will be the last.

Had dinner with some friends. Great menu, I had the pie of the day which was boeuf bourginon. Delicious. The veg was perfectly cooked too (it’s the little things!). Good selection of beer too. Everything I want from a local pub!

Had a lovely family get-together lunch here. The food was very good, tasty and well-presented, with large portions. Also dog friendly! Recommended!

Our second visit for Sunday lunch and definitely won't be our last. Really friendly pub with relaxed atmosphere, good beers and delicious food at a reasonable price. We had the locally sourced roast beef which was tender, full of flavour and served with perfectly cooked vegetables and delicious gravy. Large portions but vegetables are brought in a separate dish, so your plate isn't overloaded. Can't comment on puddings as we were too full. Looking forward to our next visit!

Came in on a Monday night to a welcoming holiday greeting and personal attention that made us feel at home. Several specials in addition to the standard menu and we tried the salt &’pepper squid starter, Bere Mill Burger and Greek salad. As an American transplant, it’s very difficult to find a decent burger; but Steve knocked it out of the park! Excellent beef, cooked exactly as ordered, with brioche bun and tasty toppings. Greek salad full of ripe tomatoes and salty feta …felt like sunshine on a dreary Monday. Christmas Carolers in the bar area. And a quick chat with Steve, the chef. Polite and responsive service. Couldn’t fault a thing and can’t wait to return. Well done Steve & crew!!!!

Popped in to have a pint and catch up with a friend. Great location, very clean and tidy, and the service was great. Would definitely go there again.

Visited The Kings Arms for the first time since the new owners had taken over and what a transformation. The pub was clean and smelt fresh. It was busy for a Thursday evening and the fires were roaring. We all had food. I had the special chilli burger which was from The Bere Mill Butchers. It was perfectly cooked and presented very nicely on a nice looking board. Two of our friends had the gammon, which looked great. Nice and thick with well cooked eggs placed on top. Whitchurch has been in dire need of a good place to eat locally. Safe to say we finally have it.

Last minute decision to dash out for dinner did not disappoint! Lots of friendly, familiar faces from local villages and a lovely welcome from the fabulous team including Steve the landlord made us feel instantly welcome. Food delish as always, very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of local, fresh food and drinks on offer. There was no need to rush our meal and after a busy week at work, it was a welcomed respite from the craziness of the week! Thank you ? We’ll be back for more!

Lost its charm sadly, used to be able to swing by grab a nice light lunch and have a pint during the week. (dirty fries or a pizza etc) but now the food is all too formal for a quick pit stop. Also much less choice of drinks. I get the impression that the drinks on tap are what the landlord likes, very few good Larger’s and zero IPA’s to choose from. Not everyone likes flat ale! But it seems they do so there is a few ales to choose from. Food wise the menu is limited and lacks some traditional good old pub favourites. Fancy burger that is not actually that great, a venison burger etc. I hope it works for the new owners but never seen it so quiet at lunch time during the week. Used to be busy for lunch and now its not. But prices and portion sizes are good. Also the new staff are not a patch on the old friendly chatty lot.
