We visited for brunch and the food was absolutely delicious, would definitely visit again as I wanted about 5 things from the menu and it was a tough decision! The service could have been a bit warmer, it was very efficient but the staff weren’t overly friendly or smiley! Didn’t spoil it though!

Booked for breakfast the day after Boxing Day and eveything hit the spot. Loved the huge teapot, refreshing to see. No cup with a teabag in it here. Sweetcorn fritters are sensational and cannot find a fault. Will be back next time in Winchester. A good time had by all :-)

We hired a small private dining room for a group of 18. The space was just right and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was amazing. We paid for the food and some drinks in advance with a cash bar on the night. Communication before the event was great and they were very flexible. Everything was well organised and the team looking after us were very friendly and accommodating.

We really enjoyed our breakfast here, everything was delicious!

Incredibly rude woman on the front desk. We’re told we could sit anywhere that was free. Ordered £40 worth of breakfast, decided to move to a free unreserved table inside which became available. Another woman came over and then told us we had to move once all of our food had arrived “just incase someone else wanted to come and sit there and it soon became reserved”Clearly just money grabbing and not bothered about customers once they’ve got your money.Felt sorry for the other staff as they were perfectly friendly (especially the guy on the hatch)

I went with my friend and my toddler and I was impressed how kid friendly this place was. There was a small buggy park (which would only fit one maybe two prams but rare to find at all in restaurants), baby changing, highchairs and a kids menu. It is up a flight of stairs though if you are bringing a buggy but the waiter was so kind and immediately offered to help me with the buggy. All the waiters and waitresses were absolutely lovely, they were so attentive and helpful. Really kind and friendly. The food was delicious, I had the chickpea and aubergine stew with naan and it was lovely and warming on a cold winter’s day. My daughter very much enjoyed her meal which came with complimentary juice which she very much appreciated! My friend also had the stew and really liked it too. A really lovely spot and brilliant for kids, I felt so welcomed and everyone was so kind and helpful with my daughter.

Really lovely atmosphere, had a nice breakfast menu with vegan options. Waited quite a while for the food however, when it came it was definitely worth the wait! Portions were big and very yummy, food was slightly pricier that I thought but again it was delicious and good sized portions. I had avocado on toast which was lovely, we also had one vegan breakfast and one meat breakfast and they looked amazing!

Exceeded expectations! I’m so sick of being disappointed by restaurants, many of which seem to be steadily reducing quality - but Forté was a delight; perfect poached eggs, generous portions (especially the maple syrup! Nice!) and a reassuringly small but imaginative menu. Recommend the sweetcorn fritters. If you’re a fan of the other breakfast place in Winchester then do give this one a try, you might be surprised. We’ll definitely be back.

Waitresses all smiley and helpful. We were seated promptly. Cannot fault their service. However, the food took 40 minutes to arrive. The beef burger was bloody and runny, causing the bottom bun to go soggy. The flavour wasn’t great. I felt really sick the whole day after eating it. The chips and slaw were good and the drinks were good. The cafe is located on the first floor with no lift access. It was extremely noisy and no music was playing. For the time we waited, the food quality and the atmosphere being a headache I would not recommend or return.

Small seating area downstairs but more seating available upstairs, great coffee and sourdough toasties.

A really nice, cosy place to have a good breakfast. Friendly staff and dogs welcome in a smaller section of their restaurant, but not all of it.Otherwise, it's what you'd expect from a good, brunch-focused eatery.

we booked a table for 1115 but then when we were sitted, it had already passed breakfast time and we were told that we could not order anything until lunch time at 12 but the waitress kept reminding us that we would need to leave at 1240. We ordered at 12 but then the food didn't come until 1245. We were then told that we could stay. The whole process made us felt like we were not welcomed and the restaurant should have let us know earlier that we would not be able to order anything if we could not order before 1130. It was very unpleasant that they kept reminding us that we need to return the table while they couldnt let us order at all.The table was very small and seats were tightly packed that we wouldn't want to stay for that long if the food didn't take so long to be ordered and prepared. The quality of the food was okay but the portion was rather small. The waitress also got our bill wrong in the end so I would suggest other customers to check the bill.Obviously they think that they have a lot of customer and they dont reall care avout their service. I wouldnt really suggest this restaurant to anyone unless you have a lot of time and you are on diet.

We booked a table for lunch based on previous reviews and the lure of local produce. Between 4 of us we had burgers, scotch eggs and ham & egg. The burgers were no better than a well made McDonalds. The ham was pale and nothing special. The scotch egg was unexciting. On top of this the drinks were very expensive for the quality and serving size. Overall a very disappointing but expensive experience.
