Roshan the goat, my dining experience was unmatched and the food was delicious, I’m almost guarenteed to recommend Turtle Bay Winchester to my friends. I cannot be happier with my experience.

O'Neill'S Winchester

Popped in Friday night after a meal elsewhere. It was busy, standing only, typical Saturday in town. Live band were really good. Every drink you could think of is available. Staff all friendly. A LOT of drunk people at 10pm, most happy but a couple of older guys clearly struggling to stay upright which made it a little on edge waiting to see if something would come of it (kept bumping in to people). But 95% of people having a good time. Very mixed crowd of you, old, male, female.

Old Forge Otterbourne

Appreciated the menu range, service was engaging and friendly, meals were all superb and met and exceeded all expectations. An exceptional triumph to have different and well executed menu that has meals notable and delicious in a competitive market. This evening was brilliant ? great job!!!

Kyoto Kitchen

Lovely experiance, Japanese cuisine, food very high quility, had 5 course set meal, each dish come with a paired Saki, as each dish was presented it was explained what was what by the waiter, will most certainly be going again, but need to practice more with the chip sticks.

Gurkha's Inn

Excellent Nepalese and Indian food with great service from very friendly staff. Papadoums and drinks were brought quickly. My main, a lamb curry had 1 * in the menu and was slightly hot, enough to clear the sinuses, and very tasty.

The Plough Itchen Abbas

Stayed for one night wish we could have stayed for more, great hosts, lovely clean comfortable room with a real power shower and a breakfast to kick off the day.

The Chesil Rectory

Third visit, lovely place, great food. Bit of a long gap between starter and main. Only one vegetarian main on our preordered menu which meant our veggie party member didnt have any choice. Still, lovely place. Would go again.

Lucky Lychee at The Green Man Winchester

I am Malaysian and lived in negeri sembilan for work for 1 year. Just had the daging salai masak lemak here. Imagine authentic tasting lauk lemak, and they use the softest juciest medium rare steak.

The daging rendang which was on the previous menu was also the best rendang i had in the UK

Called in for drinks.Although it was very quiet at that time, the barman was brilliant. What a pleasure to have a smile and lovely coffee. Thank you. Makes a massive difference.

Had an amazing meal here, awe had the starter for 2, sirloin main and a side of garlic mushrooms.

The Kitchen@ Winchester Golf Academy

Visited a few times. Lovely place not just for people using the golf. Loads of parking in 2 car parks and dog friendly. This place gets busy the Food is freshly made and very tasty so worth the occasional wait. All the staff are friendly but watching the barista Leah make excellent coffee while being rushed off her feet with orders and serving customers at the counter while staying polite, friendly and calm deserves a special mention.

Great family meal, we were there early for Sunday lunch. Staff were very attentive and food was fantastic. Very close to the Cathedral. No air conditioning as to be expected given the age of the lovely building. Fans placed throughout.

Return visit to our favourite local restaurant.
Due to the various levels of lockdown we have not been here as often as we would have liked.
Evening visit.
Temperature check on arrival, plus sanitizer.
We were shown to our table, good spacing of tables, felt safe in respect of Covid 19.
Service and staff were first class as expected.
Excellent menu which should satisfy most, if not all customers.
Thoroughly recommended .

First visit to any restaurant since lockdown lifted
Booked a table in advance
Sanitiser at the entrance and body temperature measured .
Tables spacing , allow enough room for social distancing.
Tables and chairs were cleaned immediately when vacated. A sanitiser also available on each table
Before dining we were happy for our safety during covid -19 restrictions.
We arrived early and were able to have drinks at the bar while we had a very short wait for our table
This was a pleasant way to start our evening
There was a choice of menu, a la carte , vegetarian and vegan , and a set menu.
The restaurant is also taking part in the Government scheme , where a £10 per head reduction of the bill is available.( Mon to Wed)
The service and was excellent, all staff were very smartly dressed. On this occasion we choose to select from the a la carte menu.
Superb food well presented, our waiter was very informative .
An excellent evening which is comparable to some of the restaurants we have dined in France.
Thoroughly recommended, and we will definitely return .

The Winchester Stable

Great pizza, cheesy garlic pizza bread and Mac &cheese with a wonderful variety of ciders. An unassuming picnic table ambiance with cozy candles and wonderful service.

The Ship Inn

Came on a Tuesday evening. Very welcoming, comfortable and cosy atmosphere, 10/10 for service. Food was incredible! I highly recommend! We will definitely be returning

As a fan of Rick's and having been to the Seafood Restaurant we had an idea of what to expect and hoped it would be the same. We weren't disappointed.
The service was excellent and the staff a compliment to the business - professional, friendly and not 'in your face'.
We had the set lunch menu with a couple of supplements and it was all excellent - great quality, well cooked and well timed between courses.
It wasn't expensive at all and certainly not for what you got. For example we went to a pub the next day and paid a similar price for food that wasn't a patch on it...and bear in mind we had supplementary items too.

I couldn't recommend enough.

Three Joes Sourdough Pizza

My sisters and I had pizza salad and macaroni cheese, all meals were delicious!! We were served by a friendly waiter.
Service was great and the Joe we met was professional, helpful and friendly!!
We liked it and will call again!!

Delicious food and range of drinks, all good value for money. A great place to meet friends for a meal. Good location. Very helpful staff.

Parking: No problems about parking. Ignore the signs informing drivers to register their cars at the bar. It isn't necessary!

The Willow Tree

Went for some food and a pint , unfortunately they’d run out of draft bitter but there was plenty of other draft beers to choose from . Food was quite delicious

The Mayfly, Stockbridge

My food was good the only problem was it was rather expensive for a roast dinner maybe peraps you could do a roast without all the meat and make sure you do a roast for people that have alergys and no tomatos in the nut roast a seperate

Samurai Teppanyaki restaurant

Such a unique dining experience! We spent the whole night laughing and enjoying good food. My prawns were cooked perfectly, my mussels were delicious and smelled phenomenal. Definitely recommend if you want a restaurant experience like no other.

King Alfred

Fabulous pub and hotel. 15 mins from train station. Busy both nights I was there. Quiz and food. Hotel Room was lovely, Clean and a fridge! Always a nice touch. Staff friendly. Felt comfortable as a solo traveller in the area and sat out for a drink.

Swan

Another great meal at The Swan! Specials are amazing I had the game mixed grill which was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive as always, can’t recommend enough.

Fantastic place, a real gem!
Warm genial service with a smile, lovely (and fun cheeky banter) . Chic and calming ambience. Good food too. There are board games too!

Afternoon Tea at Lainston House - Winchester

My BF is a chef and I wanted to spoil him. After expert advice from Lainston House, I chose the table s chef and it was worth every penny. From the antique looking personalised scroll to the attentive and friendly service, we were exquisitely looked after. The sommelier recommended the perfect wine to pair and Ben was looking after us with him. The chefs were soooo good. Each dish was a delight and the finesse of the presentation was outstanding. Each chef came to introduce the dish they prepared. I guess we met them all. Very professional and friendly. My BF commented on how tight knit the team was. We were both also impressed by their thorough cleaning at the end of the night shift. All in all, an extraordinary experience where everything was just so. Next time, we ll try the Avenue restaurant

My usual fuel stop. Daytime staff are friendly and stocks are good. One bad thing is the insane oil prices. 2 litres of Shell Helix 5W30 is over £40. I can buy 5 litres of Mobil 1 5W30for less than £40.

From arriving to checking out all staff were very helpful and friendly Arrived early not expecting to check in but the receptionist checked and room was ready Not only that we were given a room upgrade, much appreciated as I was celebrating my birthday later on in the day made our way to the bar cosy friendly atmosphere made even more so by Evangelos Breakfast was enjoyable with attentive friendly staff. I recently made a pit stop at Shell northbound Sutton Scotney. Grabbed some fuel, coffee, and snacks. The sight of Costa machines and a variety of hot and cold snacks was a relief. Facilities were solid, and the staff were friendly. However, the time it took the pump to fill my tank was a bit longer than expected – I could've practically read through a Harry Potter novel during that wait.

Popham Services station is a small service station located on the westbound side of the A303 near Popham, Hampshire. It is the first service station to be encountered on the A303 if you are travelling west from the M3 and it is the partner site of Micheldever Services which is located on the eastbound side. There is also wild bean cafe branch here and it was a decent cup of coffee, with a limited range of products. Prices are open to interpretation depending on if your half full or half empty kinder person

Good for a quick pit stop however fuel very pricey compared to local garages in the area so do your road trip homework first if you need to fill up at main services... ?

From the moment we checked into the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, thank you to the very efficient receptionist for her help in finding us a parking space and recommending the wonderful garden restaurant. Central hotel good value large rooms. We will be back again to further explore Winchester.

Me and the wife have been scouring pubs in the area for years for a decent roast dinner. Some pubs come close but there's always something that let's them down, not this time.

The staff are fantastic, the food was just as good. Honestly the best roast dinner I can recall having in any pub. Well done team, keep it up!

Apart from te salad leaves swam in the Caesar sauce- way too much, and too much salt on the chips, it was a pleasant dining overall. However, it was really noisy, and I could barely hear the conversation.

The Wykeham Arms, Winchester

A fantastic find. Unassuming exterior but once the through the door the interiors were buzzing. A step back in time. Fantastic atmosphere, the food was some of the best pub food we've ever had and the service was excellent, so friendly.

Had a lovely meal tonight at Dim T. I have a random alergy and they were the most attentive to it than anywhere I have ever been. The service team took my order, then went to the kitchen to check, then came back to confirm with me that everything was OK. The food was wonderful and the decor and feel of the place is excellent. The food was so nice!! I had Mattar Paneer and veg rice. Generous portions. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. They have many vegetarian options. The restaurant was nice too and very spacious. The menus were a bit sticky though so could do with being cleaned.

Cadence at The Handlebar Cafe

Love this place. We go regularly after walking St. Catherine's Hill. The staff are always friendly and sometimes we have a good giggle with them! The coffee is good and the size generous. My husband loves the cakes!

The Bridge Patisserie

HANDMADE pastry, good coffee, VERY REASONABLE PRICE. I stay in Winchester for a week, came here three times already. Go off the touristy main street and come here for good quality food and service which is only a few mins away.

Reeve The Baker

Lovely pastries. Very tasty- we had a chocolate swirl, chocolate chip shortcake cookie, and a croissant. Nice staff. Cozy atmosphere. There are different prices if you eat in or take out. I didn’t see much seating, but it could be somewhere else in the place.

West Cornwall Pasty Co

We often stop here for a break on the way to the coast, service is always with a smile and the food quality is very high. The new man there is cheerful and makes a great cuppa. Skip the lines from the coffee place, and treat yourself to pasty too. Well priced and the place is spotlessly clean!

Great service from Izzy and Izzy, tasty hot food and great atmosphere at Zizzi’s Winchester. The team cater really well for our gluten free food requests. We’ll be back soon!

Pizza Express

Always delicious food and quick service. The team are trying their best but they’re always rushed off their feet and it’s a difficult building. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Hopefully their move to the new site will improve things for the team.

Starbucks Coffee

I have been coming to this branch of Starbucks for 8 years now and the consistency in the quality of the drinks made, and the customer service from staff, is truly excellent.

No-one is perfect but for me the efforts this team makes to rectify a bitter tasting coffee is outstanding. Politely and kindly speak to a team member and they will gladly help you; this is much better than leaving and then posting a bad review on here.

I can whole-heartedly say that team members in this branch make the effort to get to know each and every customer who returns. Starbucks as a whole is generally good with this, but the team here is amazing.

There are for me some team members who stand above the rest, and to them I wish to say thank you as I now move to a different city. Thank you to: Louise, Kiara, Maddy, Alex, Sue, Steph, Sylvia and Korts. You are each particularly wonderful team members who make awesome coffee and always make me feel welcome. Especially Louise who has a heart of solid gold.

What can you say its a macdonalds so the food taste the same as every other franchisee. Its a place to grab fast food nothing exceptional. Shame they didnt do the milk shakes at this place when I visited as that is one thing Macdonalds do really well

Went on a very busy Sunday lunchtime. I ordered via the app but I don’t think it made a difference to waiting time. Staff were clearly working hard to get orders out as fast as possible whilst keeping the tables clean and the restaurant tidy. My order was correct food was hot and tasty. Staff member asked me if I needed any sauces when giving me my food, which is always appreciated. Top marks. Thank you.

The Hyde Tavern

Good real ale, friendly and quirky, no TV or music apart from occasional live music nights. Lovely landlady. The perfect local.

The Avenue

Wonderful food from Maestro Tom Hamblet, backed up by the attentiveness of all staff. A beautiful venue. It's a personal preference, but I wouldn't have had the selection of Muzak which included heavy rock! Not very relaxing! That doesn't affect the 5 star review, however, well deserved.

Cracking meal.I had pretty low expectations but couldn’t have been more wrong.The salmon and squid ink pasta was fantastic. The chicken was lovely.Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. They’re obviously trying which is great to see.

The Dolphin

First time in The Dolphin. The service was nice and friendly. The food was great (cheese board was particularly impressive) and the price of the drinks was on par with local bars. There is an added bonus of free parking at the back but remember to register your car in the pub.

Recently visited Winchester and found this gem of a place which sells the best hot chocolate that I have ever tasted. P.S will be coming back for some more!!!

Really nice chippy in Winchester. Does takeaway and also has a small amount of seating.

Quite high quality and appropriately priced because of that. But it's worth it and the food and portion sizes are good.

Had the haddock and chips plus curry sauce. Food was excellent.

The Bakers Arms

Fantastic evening spent in this pub with work colleagues. The pub owner accommodated us despite being busy with the England match. We had lots of fun & even got the chance to sing!

Pumpkin Cafe

This is the only place I know that sells coconut water. So convenient if this is your choice of drink, you're travelling and you're thirsty. Not sure why it is called pumpkin cafe though I couldn't see any of the popular oversized squash based vegetable on sale so maybe stick to supermarkets if that is what you were thinking they sold. Others on this site complain about the staff personally I found the lady serving delightful and I prefer her to being served by some AI Avatar who is attractive but unable to feel true emotion....and has blue skin. To offer a balanced view it is cheaper if you invest in a flask or buy your snacks before your journey in a supermarket but if you can't be bothered to be organised then expext to pay over the odds for flavoured hot water and don't Complain on here about it..... honestly this is not the right platform to inspire genuine change.

Great Donner meat and chips. Great chilli sauce. If you let them know they're ok a rush for the train they'll try their hardest to get your food done quick. 10/10

Domino's Pizza - Winchester

I got my food deliver at about 2:30am they arrived pretty quickly. The food was amazing but the highlight of it was the driver he is the long bearded guy, he was very sweet and very kind massive thank you to him I hope he gets treated well since he made my night. ?

Pizza Pan

I can only speak for the pizza on my visit. I ordered a Pepperoni Lover and the Pizza Pan Special for my partner and I. We choose to collect our pizzas and saw them come fresh out the oven as we arrived, it doesn't get much better than that. The pizza tasted great and was fairly priced.

It is worth noting that this isn't a Dominos or Papa John's type pizza that's semolina dusted and has insanely puffed crust, it's a bit more restrained but it pays off well.

Pizza Pan is definitely a contender for takeaway nights in the future and I would happily go to them over the other big chain pizza restaurants in the city.

The Exchange

Sometimes when you feel like having a burger there's not much that will shake you from that. Fabulous gluten free burger and chips in a proper pub. What's not to love. The pictures are the GF SJT burger. Brilliant.

Dietary restrictions: Great GF burger. I'm sure there are other GF options too but I stick to the burger when I'm there because it's brilliant and never disappoints.

Subway

Good choice and offers a Gluton free bread which is pretty good. Staff friendly and helpful. They were often away from the counter doing jobs out the back which meant customers were waiting to served. Prices have become high but that is reflective of everywhere at the moment. £20 for a footlong meal and a 6 inch Gluton free sandwich meal.
