The lady who runs the place is lovely always happy to help she even offered us an umbrella to walk with when we went out brilliant rooms the bed was surprisingly comfortable which most cheaper hotels are not and the tv in the room was a decent size.I have absolutely no complaints about the hotel whatsoever.Rooms: Class

While all the other hotels at Southampton were very expensive during our stay, The Swan Inn was only 90£ for a room with an on suite shower. We usually stay at big chain hotels so weren’t sure what we’ll get, but decided to give it a shot and don’t regret it! The rooms have everything you need and a great TV, very quiet (especially considering the location), and the owner is absolutely lovely. Thanks a lot to her. We’ll come back if we are in Southampton again.

Stayed here for an overnight with work. Having driven down from Scotland and arriving in Southampton at 1pm, although the book in is 3.30, the very kind lady allowed me access to my room to allow me to sleep. Rooms are absolutely spotless and very well kitted out. Free tea and coffee, plug extensions for your devices and also USB charging ports and the bed was super comfortable. Being honest I could have slept for a full day had I not had to get back up the road. Brilliant wee place. Keep up the good work!

Very helpful owner. Rooms clean and well appointed. Location on bus route to city. Convenience store across the road. Walking distance to local pubs that serves food. Limited parking.Food & drinks: Public house that serves drinks, no food.

The Swan Inn is located in Sholing and is a short downhill walk away from Sholing station. Woolston station is around three quarters of a mile distant on foot. The rooms are located in a block adjacent to the pub and I was able to acquire the room with en suite facilities. It contained a large double bed, a decent shower and tea & coffee making facilities. I spent a comfortable night here although there is no facility for breakfast. I had a complimentary night courtesy of hotels.com so only paid £14 for tax for one night.

The room was ok, clean bathroom. But the bed was gross ? we went to get into bed, it had hair (clumps and long hair) on the sheets, plus stains on it. We could not sleep in it so took the duvet cover off to lay on top of and the duvet was covered in stains too. Then between 3am and 4.30am the noise of other guests returning was a joke, no respect for others slamming doors and yelling at each other. We most certainly would not stay there again.

The manageress Jackie was extremely helpful and her accommodation was #1+ and probably the best room I've paid such a small amount of money to sleep in for a very long time, and I've taken one of her cards with the information details and will definitely be very happy to use the SWAN INN AGAIN,My appreciation to her and her help with this, Jack Finn from South Shields NE33

Be careful if you leave an honest review that the landlady doesn’t like, you will get refused service and told to drink somewhere else. Very hostile and unwelcoming. Very shocked that someone can be refused service for leaving a review that was honest but fair. On top of this the drinks are over priced which I found on previous visits. The landlady’s reply to this review is a lie and not how she approached the subject at all. Refused service over a review is pretty petty. Bad reviews help you get better and improve and should be taken on board.

Just checked out of this lovely gem. Absolutely brilliant stay, there is a few rooms with shared bathroom and rooms with ensuite which we stayed in where the cleanliness was top standard and very spacious with a nice size TV with apps for Netflix ect. The bar downstairs is lovely and very welcoming. To top it off the lady we met was so helpful and friendly, could not fault any service. Thank you hope to see you again.

Stayed one night over to see a show in Southampton. Room was spotless and so was the shared bathroom and shower room. Beds were comfortable and clean. Shame that they don't do breakfast but had a cracking full English at Annie's cafe just down the Portsmouth road about 4 mins in car or 15 mins walk.
