Beautiful room, lovely staff, will definitely come back if in the area. Loved that they supplied actual mugs instead of small tea cups. ? The matteress wasn't great for us, so didn't sleep that well, (hence couldn't give it that fith star) but everything else was grand!!!!

The first impression was very good; the listed building is very impressive and there are some pretty original features inside. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful. Apparently, there has been a recent change of staff after a bit of turmoil so it might be worth trying again if you’ve had a bad experience in the pastWe had a great time and it was just what we wanted.Food & drinks: The bar had a couple of real ales from a local brewery that were well kept. The food was typical pub food but done well and with care. There was a good range of vegetarian options and the desserts were delicious.

Went for a meal here a few nights ago. Upon entry, we were disappointed to see that a number of customers were vaping inside at the bar with children present next to a no smoking or vaping sign (this was all in front of a female member of staff who made no attempt to tell them to go outside). We were seated in the dining room which is cosy but unfortunately many of the tables had not been cleared from previous customers. When we asked what ciders were available, we were told that only two were, only to find out that they actually had a very wide variety of ciders available. However, we could not fault the food - it was gorgeous!

A warm welcome on arrival after a long drive was very much appreciated. Good value hotel with wholesome food served in the bar.

We stayed in room 3 for one night. Unfortunately the rooms on first impression look quite nice, however there needs to be some immediate updates to make this an enjoyable stay. One side of the bed frame had collapsed, a bodged repair had been made but due to this we were kept awake allnight by the squeaking everytime we moved. The bathroom has tiles in the shower that need to be retiled. The bedframe and window sills were dusty and the bathroom window film is held on with blu tack. We didn't even have a chance to speak to staff about the issues as no one was present when we returned from dinner or checkout in the morning. The service was great, bar was good too with great beers. However a little disappointed for £105 per night for room only.
Beautiful building very friendly and welcoming staff and lovely local

Place all closed when arrived...no staff...finally got in...room not bad, but no onsite food...had to lock hotel when I left, again no staff on site. Unfortunately don't think this place will last long!!

Room absolutely smelled of cats. It was damp and the beer is really expensive and don't do breakfast.

Went here for a few drinks with friends and whilst the two guys behind the bar are cheerful and chatty, the girl who also works here (housekeeper) is always hungover and slouched somewhere in the bar, looking worse for wear - I dread to think of her skills in her job looking at the state of her, and no surprises when you read reviews that guests have left re: housekeeping. Bar is small, no character, dirty and no atmosphere, and their beer prices are a joke.

Really nice atmosphere. Nice outside areas. Reasonably priced pint. Did not stay in the hotel so no comment on the rooms
