The first impression was very good; the listed building is very impressive and there are some pretty original features inside.The room was clean and nicely furnished.The staff were friendly and helpful. Went for a meal here a few nights ago. Upon entry, we were disappointed to see that a number of customers were vaping inside at the bar with children present next to a no smoking or vaping sign (this was all in front of a female member of staff who made no attempt to tell them to go outside).We were seated in the dining room which is cosy but unfortunately many of the tables had not been cleared from previous customers. We stayed in room 3 for one night. Unfortunately the rooms on first impression look quite nice, however there needs to be some immediate updates to make this an enjoyable stay. One side of the bed frame had collapsed, a bodged repair had been made but due to this we were kept awake allnight by the squeaking everytime we moved.
