Pubs in Kington

“An indulgent and lush Sunday Roast - between the four of us we had beef, pork and nut roast with all of the trimmings and generous portions of properly prepared veg, including cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, carrots, peas and mangetout. Everything was so well prepared - we had just enough room for crumble and ice cream. Absolutely what a Sunday Lunch should be. A really friendly welcome too.”

“I happened on this delightful country pub when hiking the borders. I had my best evening here after 16 days of hiking. Run professionally by landlady Jane. Lots of Cider choices, friendly locals, a welcome fire as the evening began to cool and I was able to camp in the garden. Handy for the outside gents which are always open. Jane doesn't do food at all which didn't bother me as I had camping food.”

“We had a short bed and breakfast stay over the Remembrance weekend and we were not disappointed one little bit. The room was comfortable and quiet and the breakfasts were first rate and very filling. Sarah and Dave couldn’t do enough to make us feel most welcome (and the pub locals were friendly also). Whilst we were there we had an evening meal and a Sunday lunch which were both cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this place for a stay and are actively checking the diary to see when we will be back.Thank you Royal Oak Gladestry.”

“A very lovely, warm and cozy pub. Quaint and traditional decor with log fires. Served by friendly staff, including the chef who came out to check on our thoughts of the food. The food is gorgeous - we had the pork chop special, lamb tagine, steak, gammon & egg, cheeseburger and ham, egg & chips between us. All was cooked to perfection and served beautifully with good portion sizes. Delicious desserts too. We are holidaying in the area but we would love to come back sometime in the future if we are nearby.”

“We loved the decor, especially the jugs. The service was amazing and the turbot was outstanding. We met the chef, his mother and the chef's son - all totally charming. Lovely people. We went for my dad's 60th birthday and he had a really special time. Great memories.”
