We loved the decor, especially the jugs. The service was amazing and the turbot was outstanding. We met the chef, his mother and the chef's son - all totally charming. Lovely people. We went for my dad's 60th birthday and he had a really special time. Great memories.

Would love to be leaving a nice review now - however after making a booking a few days ago I have just received a call to say 'We don't do Vegans' so obviously I have cancelled as I don't fancy just 'a bowl of olives' for my dinner as I was offered. It's 2023 you might want to reconsider your customer service as well as your dietary options.

First class food and service, we returned 3 times in the week we were there on holiday, highly

Went for lunch, two courses and they were excellent, very pleasant hostess with a nice smile, only marred by two sets of pompous diners.

Extremely disappointing lunch. Took ages to arrive and the sole was totally overcooked and looked very mushy. Avoid that at all costs. My husband's pork was ok but unappetising. My son's stone bass was the best choice with a crispy skin. Suspect it was an exception as it had been recommended to us by several people but we will definitely not return.

Food was lovely, a short menu but that's always a good sign. Service was very slow to begin with. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Excellent food, service and surroundings! We had the sole, and the mushroom and truffle ravioli, both were simply delicious. If the weather was better, we would have sat outside in the pretty garden. Well worth a visit ?

Came here with friends and family to eat at the restaurant, staff were very kind, however, upon ordering a confit duck LEG, I received a single drumstick. For the outrageous price I found this unacceptable, as well as the fact that all others on my table who had ordered the same where given a thigh. I was disgusted by the false advertising, that I would get a chicken leg, and overall dissatisfied with the trip.

Pre booked for my partners 60th Birthday. The welcome was warm and inviting. Staff were very friendly. We arrived early and they were very accommodating. Food was out of this world. Steak cooked just as I asked. No rush with anything. Food was Hot and very well presented. Would highly recommend and will return.

Fantastic hosts, great food in lovely village. We've eaten here several times over the past ten years but stayed as an overnight stop on the Mortimer Trail. The room and bathroom was small but this was more than made up for by the big welcome by the relatively new landlords and delicious food.

Not normally a lover of Sunday lunches, but the fathers day lunch we had today was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed by all and we will definitely return for another. Big thank you to the staff for the friendly and happy service as well.

Father's day Sunday Roast. Incredible three course meal. Marinaded trout with bruscheta, Roast Beef - which was mind blowingly good. Eton mess for dessert. They'd sold all the Pork and duck though so we got there a little late. Book early is the lesson I suppose.Food & drinks: We go for the restaurant. Really good food, very busy.

Excellent as always, Very clean, easy and free parking, superb food - thank you. Took elderly aunt and uncle who really enjoyed it. A favourite and reliable place to take guests. Aunt was especially pleased as someone else had recommended it to her!

The setting is lovely. The building is lovely from the outside. It has good disabled access. On the inside it is comfortable, smart and modern. There is a restaurant and separate bar area. The staff were lovely - friendly and welcoming. The menu was limited but offered some unusual choices. The food was mediocre at best. I had a chorizo starter which was a clumsy and lazy dish - just lots of thick slices of very tough chorizo in a bowl with a sprig of greenery. No finesse at all. It was edible but only as I was hungry. The steak which followed was not cooked as I asked. It was overcooked as was that of another one of our party. It was also a poor steak served with a big piece of inedible gristle. (Not appetising). Again it was edible but I've had much better quality and much better cooked steaks at my local Sizzling Pub. (and for a 1/3 of the price). The wine was good and reasonbly priced for a restaurant. They are a little behind the times with their choice of non-alcoholic drinks - no non-alcoholic gin or prosecco. Not good for my wife who can't drink alcohol because of her medication. And there was just one mocktail on offer ( but it did contain some alcohol!) All in all a disappointing night out with a very lack lustre meal.
