Food was average and basic menu. Fish and chips at £17 wasn't worth it.Team serving were lovely and very attentive.Place was very cold as no log fires lit !

Went for Sunday Lunch Mackerel Pate was very hard ! Had salmon which was ok. Two others had beef which was tough Unusual gravy Cheesecake ok Churros tasted as if fried in old oil and chocolate sauce cold Customer walking round with Great Dane sniffing around our table Will not return

Booked a table for an early (not open for lunch on the actual day)celebratory birthday lunch. Was a bit disappointed that the lunch time menu seemed to be light bites and snacks only, this being at odds with the website. However enquired of dinner menu and was told that this would be available. Result!The two young ladies behind the bar were brilliant, a real asset to our experience. The speed of service and their attentiveness deserves special mention.My starter was a superb combination meats, salad and bread roll, enough to rein in the hunger pangs light enough to leave room for the main even.A very decent steak, mushrooms, tomatoes and chunky chips, a proper plate full which I thoroughly enjoyed.My wife's dessert, a chocolate and raspberry mouse was not an afterthought on a plate but a beautifully presente sensible portion of tastiness.Well done The Stockton Cross and your staff. Thank you.

Under new management, thank god.Went to have a meal, and the bar was pretty full with loud music playing in the background . So everyone was shouting above the music. We sat at our table and couldn't hear ourselves speak. We decided to leave. The server came to take our order, and we explained the situation to her. She took immediate control and said I'll sort that out for you.Within a minute, the music had been turned right down . The people in the bar stopped shouting and started talking, and the noise level came right down.We then ordered our meal, which came in quick time. Beautifully cooked and most enjoyable. Kudos to the server.Will certainly be going back.

OK for a drink however food menu is very limited, and personally do not like dogs being in a food area.Staff very friendly, however very loud if you want a quietAtmosphere.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch celebrating my dad’s birthday. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. Highly recommended and definitely going back! I’m not local, had booked a table after checking out some reviews and everything from a lovely cheery warm welcome, a delicious meal and great service exceeded expectations. Nice personal touches makes sure this stands out from the many chains about.

Brilliant food and exceptional service. Decor a little let down but its a traditionalold pub. Will definitelybe back.
Friendly pub with good restaurant attached. Food was very good with lots of choice. Portions were generous. Full of locals contributing to a good ambience. Landlady & Landlord were friendly and Stowford the Newfoundland dog even friendlier. Would definitely recommend for a nice stopover between Leominster & Northern points.

Disappointingly shut.., on a Friday lunchtime. We first visited on Friday, 28th April, at lunchtime; the board was outside, clearly saying it was open, but sadly, this was not so. We were genuinely concerned that all was not well- after all, life happens, illness and so on. So we visited again today, Friday 13th May at 13:00, this time I checked the website before, which confirmed they were open.... They were not; we won't bother trying again. I would strongly suggest they should keep their website and opening times in better order.
