First time I've been in here in ages and it sure has changed. Popped in late on a Saturday night, live band playing, very busy. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, door staff were polite. No idea of bar prices as it wasn't my round.

Absolutely awful. Never known people to be so rude! Not a welcoming pub at all. Staff fight costumers. Without a good reason if u own a pub u should stop that from happening not start it! Not clean what so ever. Maybe should get the cleaning services in there considering one of the staff owns a cleaning business.

The staff were pleasant but HOW has this pub got 4 stars?? It is without doubt the grottiest, dirtiest, most rotten hole of a place that have ever had the misfortune to come across. The carpet has obviously not seen a hoover for weeks, & as for the toilets… they must be a health hazard. The ladies had 2 toilets, 1 with no lock, the other with no toilet roll or seat.Photos attached of the gents.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The Toilets are the worst I've ever seen in a pub, full of mould, one small filthy hand basin handing off the wall with mould round it. I really hope they don't serve food as I'd hate to think what the kitchen looks like.

Typical town pub. A bit run down and seemed to be the place for younger people rather than us 50+ year olds. Seemed a lot of regulars which is good but you also want to encourage other visitors. Jukebox playing loud drum n bass which we happen to like. Comfy seats in window. Best part was the beautiful dog that kept us company.

Bar people are simply rude if you’re not local.. visited here as we were here for the weekend and literally anyone stood behind me would be served first - as they were known by the bar staff. First bar member in the Hawaiian shirt - I had been stood at the front of the bar right in front of him for 10 minutes, however, he decided to shout across me to his friends behind and serve all their drinks and continued to do this for multiple other “customers” - he had turned the lights off and insisted he’s not serving anymore and when I asked him he started getting aggressive and confrontational. Then to add insult to injury he then poured himself and friends a tonne of drinks and walked out to go party with all the people he served. The other member was obviously high as a kite and bouncing off the walls saying how much he hates working!
Really great atmosphere. Landlord a true gentleman. Friendly customers. Quality, service, value and great hospitality are the watchwords here. A lovely, welcoming and historic pub right in the centre of Ross-on-Wye. Well worth a visit if a visitor to the town or if you live nearby. Highly recommended for a quiet drink, a game of pool or some music from the jukebox. Nice little snugs are dotted about and the place is clean and warm. Great!!

Super friendly pub, bar staff are heart warming & easily approachable. The landlord is a sterling gent. Hats off to what he has done to the place too, superb.
