Very disappointed with our visit to this lovely looking pub/restaurant on 23/3/24 at 7.30pm. My brother recommended this establishment, two couples arriving for a meal on a Saturday night, we arrived promptly at this establishment,to be guided to our table we were served a drink quite promptly, when we perused the menu for a few minutes, then the waiter came back to take order , only for him to inform us a very limited menu, no steaks or mixed grills available. I then ordered the pie and veg meal and mash, the pie was quite palatable, but the mash was cold ,the broccoli was undercooked and quite hard. After serving all our meals there was no check back to check on meals, where I could have highlighted my complaints. On completion of our meal there was an enquiry from the serving staff if we enjoyed the meal, I did inform the young lady of my dissatisfaction of the vegetables , where she did knock off two drinks off the bill. Shall not be returning any time soon, because of the poor quality of service we received,

Have not been here for some time, pleased to say it appears to be back to its original standards.

Went for the breakfast with Santa and food was great. Kids had a mini pancake stack and adults had a full breakfast which was cooked well and a decent size portion. Santa had an area by the fire place with chairs so the kids could sit and have a chat with him. Even better was the grinch who would come out and sneak around the restaurant, although not sure at first the kids loved it and haven’t stopped asking me if he’s coming back so they can play! The present was a nice Christmas book. We were seated by Andrea and served by Anna, they were lovely and really helpful for a group member who had allergies. Overall really enjoyed and looking forward to the future events, especially burns night!

Not impressed. Turned away on multiple occasions for dinner, despite having nearly no tables with people on. I wouldn’t have minded if we had been a large party, put we have been in with a party of two, four and five and still they would not accommodate us. Such a shame considering how well they used to do.

Have been twice in the last month and both times the service was awful, mainly from the 2 male waiting staff who were both very surly. Roast potatoes were rock hard on the outside so obviously had be sitting around and reheated several times. For desert we ordered the apple tart and the pastry was still soft and doughy and we were told " well they are microwaved and that's how they come out" ? who wants a soggy tart?

We booked for 3pm on New Years Day - seven family members. Our orders for drinks and food were taken quite quickly. We were served our drinks then waited for our food, by which time there were few customers left, as it was late afternoon so not busy by then. The starters came but my soup was nearly cold so had to be taken back to the kitchen to be reheated. It was a long wait for the main course and then some of us had to wait so that we couldn’t start together.Another lady and I had the sea bass but it was so dry and overcooked we couldn’t finish it. My grandson’s pie was not hot in the middle. We ordered desserts and three of us were served, then they served another large group while the rest of our group waited. I don’t think I’ll revisit
