Fantastic afternoon tea at black goo today. Gorgeous food, and so so much of it! Sausage rolls & scotch eggs had THE most delicious pastry. Thoroughly recommend.

My favourite cafe. The cakes are so big and very yummy. Lovely brunch menu and daily specials. Great little place, I go very often and never disappointed. It gets quite busy sometimes so I would advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Favourites are definitely the granola bowl and veggie goo with halloumi!!

Beautifully laid out Antiques shop over 4 floors, with a fabulous restaurant on the fifth floor. The food was delicious and staff very helpful and friendly. The only down side was the toilet being on 3rd floor and in need of some attention.

Cafe on top floor, no lift. 'A' boards on pavement implying it's open & welcoming me to climb up the 4 flights of stairs to get there to be told 'Sorry we close at 4'.Not a great start. I may return one day although I got the feeling you wont loose any sleep over it!Apart from that it looks nice but that's not everything is it. I can't comment on food quality, cost or hygiene of course. Not recommended for dog owners, the elderly, disabled or if you have hassles climbing steep stairs as my friend did.

Black Goo is on the very top floor of Home & Colonial. (Some signage would be useful to inform people who’ve never visited before.) We pre-booked an afternoon tea for a Sunday afternoon. It is one of the very best we have ever tasted! Absolutely delicious. The scotch eggs and sausage roll are the best! We really loved the sandwiches which included a spiced chickpea one which tasted just like pakoras. Delicious! The scones are huge and the cakes amazing. The other cake selections look amazing. The staff are all very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend the ‘dirty afternoon tea’ which also includes Prosecco. The portions were so big that we ended up taking half of it home in a doggy bag. We will be back for sure!

What a find! Such a fantastic visit to Black Goo nestled in the rafters of Home and Colonial, it’s rightfully busy a lot so it looks like it’s advisable to book, we visited on the off chance and they got us a table in 15 minutes, perfect amount of time to browse the aladdins cave and pop back and it was so worth the wait, I can’t wait to visit the rest of their cafes!

First visit today. Amazing food! Delicious, massive size portion of cakes, friendly staff and an interesting venue.

Really delicious brunch. Staff really friendly and helpful, especially catering for such a lot of us. Only thing I'd say is that it wasn't that clear that Black Goo was on the upper floor when you first enter Home & Colonial, we had to ask someone outside if they knew

Second time I have tried to consume food and coffee here. Waited to be seated, which is a plus, and the proceed to wait for my order to be taken. 10 minutes later I walked out. Plenty of staff who are in need of focusing on the customer rather than clearing tables and hiding behind the counter.

Delicious food and buzzing atmosphere. We love the fresh handmade cakes too yo take away and enjoy in the afternoon.Only thing to note is it is at the top of a cute shop so be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs. I don't mind so much as it makes me feel less guilty about all the cake I always end up buying ??

Only one toilet cubicle for the whole place with a queue. I mentioned this to a staff member who said “Well that’s life”. Not nice. Cafe staff were lovely - thank you. Add some more toilets please and empathy is good. Lots of love

I’ve been here many times before for cake and coffee and love it. Today we went for lunch and it was wonderful. I had the halloumi and mushrooms which was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. My friends had the vegan goo and half goo and again very impressed. Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Loved it.

Booked afternoon tea here for a late Mother’s Day for three of us and two young children after reading the reviews and seeing the photos. It did not disappoint. Friendly service, very generous portions, well worth the money. Food was set up ready for our arrival all freshly made and was all delicious. The other food coming out the kitchen and the cakes on the counter looked equally as delicious and again extremely generous portion sizes! They also catered for a vegetarian afternoon tea too. Highly recommended and I am sure we will be popping in soon.

It was busy so we got cakes to take away. The slices are huge, very delicious and there's lots of variety! Will definitely try going there again.

I love it here but communication really lets you down this time. Booked for 3 people a couple of weeks ago. Called twice during opening hours and got voicemail. Left a clear message that I wanted to increase the booking to 5 people and asked that they kindly returned my call if it wasn’t possible to change the booking. No call back. Checked again this morning an hr before we were due to go and told they couldn’t do it due to a larger booking of 11 people. Ok, I totally understand that but where was the call back that would take like 1 minute to say they couldn’t accommodate.
