What a lovely way to spend an afternoon by enjoying a fabulous Tasting Menu lunch at Crockers. The restaurant is set at the top of the high street in the small town of Tring in Hertfordshire. The head chef is Scott Barnard who along with his team create not only fantastic food but with the help of the front of house team try to encourage guests to engage with each other to generate a nice relaxing and buzzy atmosphere. We arrived in Tring for lunch and parked in the car park at the bottom of the high street before making the short five minute walk to the top which is where you’ll find the restaurant. As we entered we received a warm welcome before heading downstairs to the Cellar Bar for an aperitif. Whilst here Scott came down to say hello and to have a catch up as we hadn’t been for a few years. He would then personally escort us up to the Chefs Table on the top floor passing the dining room at street level. The chef’s table is a counter seating in a U shape in front of the open kitchen and the preparation area. This gives you the chance to see the chefs preparing each course from start to finish and gives you the chance to engage with the team. The menu is just a nine course Tasting Menu and there is also the option of a wine pairing. Once all guests are seated then the afternoon begins. The first two courses are your snacks where you begin with the Westcombe Cheddar , IP8 , Onion. This is followed by the Loch Duart Salmon , Ponzu , Yuzu Kosho , Furikake. You then move onto the Tring Brewery Beer Bread with Ampersand Butter. Our next course was the Hand Dived Scottish Scallop , apple , dill , cucumber , porthilly oyster , horseradish , N25 caviar and was an absolute delight. This was followed by another amazing dish of Cornish Cod , artichoke and yeast purée , sauce matelote. We then moved on to the main course and a triumph it was to. The Dry Aged Sirloin of Beef with black garlic , roscoff onion and turnip. Quite simply heaven on a plate. We now moved to the cheese course and this was not good for your arteries. Vacherin Mont d’Or with wiltshire truffle honey on a crumpet was absolutely delicious. The palate cleanser that followed was definitely needed after that. The Bergamot , ginger , pomelo , yoghurt was lightly creamy yet lovely and refreshing. This led us to dessert and as beautiful as it looked the taste matched the presentation. The Valrhona Opalys Chocolate with mandarin and yuzu was the perfect way to finish. We finished with coffee , petit fours and mulled wine to bring to an end a truly great afternoon. The food created by Scott and his team was amazing. The front of house team led by Julie look after you superbly. So when you put all this together you’re not going to be surprised when I say I would highly recommend a visit. Whether you’re a couple or small group this is a casual atmosphere where you can enjoy great food , wine and service. Definitely looking forward to returning again in the new year.Thank You Scott and all your team for a fantastic afternoon and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Being our third time dining at the chef's table, it's a truly fantastic experience. Watching the chef's prepare and present your meals is a real joy. Every dish is explained by the head chef, to which you're able to accompany with a wine pairing.Although its a bit more expensive than you're standard restaurants, it does feel like good value for money. There are other options such as a shortened chef's table, or a pick off the menu. It's a true treat of a dinning experience, with nothing of this calibre around. Would highly recommend to all !!

If you want to find a special somewhere for a treat. Look no further. The Chef's Table is it! Lovely atmosphere, nice and relaxed setting and above all the food was delicious and individual dish held its own. Highly recommend the Wine pairing too. Chef and staff very friendly and knowledgeable and they took their time to explain everything. No question was a stupid! Looking forward to going again!

We've been to Crockers quite a few times now as quite simply, it's the best restaurant we've ever been to every time. Each time we've been most of the menu has changed which means we've got to try some favourite courses again but with some changes. We recently went to the Fat Duck and I'd pick Crockers over it every day of the week.

Lucky enough to eat at the chef’s table this weekend with 8 friends. It was out of this world - every course a work of art and so delicious. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Good experience - and a bit different from other Chef's Table experiences we've had. The quality of food provided was amongst the best we can recall. The meal was taken at the chef's table upstairs although there is an al a carte option available on a lower floor. Seating was for around 14 people on seats at a U-shaped bar overlooking the kitchen/ food preparation area. Good banter with the chef and his team and we particularly enjoyed watching all the courses being assembled. The bar - located downstairs in the basement - was good although we had to wait for a while to be served - with most people arriving for their meals in time to take an aperitif, there seemed to be too few bar staff especially given the time-consuming cocktails on offer. Food and wine selection was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. I know some of our group, while enjoying banter, found the colourful language on display a little jarring and unnecessary.

We were totally blown away by Crockers The team and the service was faultless. The food was exquisite - every bit as good as you would hope to get in any top restaurant. There is simply no reason to trek into London now for a top notch eatery. Thank you Crockers for a wonderful evening

Amazing lunch at the Chefs table. The whole team are really passionate about what they do and this comes across in the chefs table offering. Very unstuffy approach to service which I like, especially at lunch. Still talking about the tomato which takes 2 days to prepare and the cheesy onion ring is the stuff that dreams are made of. I'd love to return and show off this great find in Tring!!

This was our first visit after being recommended by a friend who has been 3 times. I can see why he loves Crockers Tring. The chefs table experience was superb backed up with great service. Was brilliant to see chef Mikey lead the team in delivering each course to all 16 guests with aplomb and banter - Oui Chef! But the food - just wow! From the cheese biscuit to scallop with caviar, each course was full of flavour. Favourite was the Lobster Ravioli - if only I could have about 5 of those. That was sooo yummy ? Can’t wait to book a 2nd visit.
