We had a nice mother's day late lunch early dinner here. The vegan option (King scallop oyster mushrooms) was delicious and my daughter enjoyed the lamb bombas. I tried the smoked trout which nice and my son had the potted crab. Mains were a bit more hit and miss with my smoked haddock being spoiled because it was very salty and overwhelmed with a cream sauce. He poached egg on top however ever was perfect! Again the vegan flatbread option with fake lamb was nice and the cod cheeks and whole sole were delicious. We nearly passed on dessert but pleased we didn't because the lemon posset, sticky toffee pud, apple crumble and chocolate mousse were delicious too. The waiting staff were attentive. Book in advance at a weekend.

I have used several of the restaurants in this group at St Albans and Hitchin. Berkhampsted Restaurant is excellent example of this special chain. Although we mainly use St Albans, I can't wait to check Hertford and Harpenden in the spring. Food is excellent, sustainable, fresh and prepared so well, thrown in with excellent service and some good wine, I would recommend this chain.

A wonderful evening dining here. The restaurant is inviting and cosy. The food was amazing, myself having steak, partner having the chicken dish and two having the veggie options. We really enjoyed all three courses.The service was great, definitely my favourite restaurant in Berkhamsted by far which I’ll visit again and again.Vegetarian options: Good veggie dishes which are tasty and filling.Dietary restrictions: Free from available

Went for lunch on a Sunday (22nd October 2023) as a family for the first time at this restaurant. 5/5 for the service we received - our waiter Kamil was amazing. He was very helpful and polite. But the reason I have given it 3/5 is because the food was average. I love goats cheese and beetroot and always order it at any restaurant that has it. But the starter at Lussman with goats cheese and beetroot was awful with a plate full of onions and tasteless beetroot and tasteless goats cheese so I didn’t even bother finishing my starter. My mum didn’t bother eating her starter either. My dad hated his starter. It was a disaster. The food for kids was just not suitable for kids and they hated it. My husband’s steak was excellent he said and tender but when you are in an expensive restaurant like Lussman then you’d expect your plate to look a bit more appetizing so they really need to work on the presentation of their steak meals. Very good clean toilet facilities and lovely hand soap. Nice big restaurant and we loved our big round table - very comfortable. Amazing service. The other thing that put us off was how they take your card details at the time of booking and you get charged if you cancel your table at short notice. We as a family eat out every Sunday and this restaurant is the only one we have come across that does this which put us off from the time we booked it. So I suggest just turning up and asking for a table rather than booking. Anyway it was nice to try this restaurant once we enjoyed the service and the ambiance but the menu is not something to go back for again.

So inviting from the outside but so average. I have walked past this restaurant and was keen to visit. Oh dear, we both were disappointed. The set menu looked great, but omg the kipper pate dry toast rock hard no butter or lemon and no staff. The sole was tasteless and the vegetables drowning in oil. But the sorbet delicious. Sadly will not return.
Lovely interior, interesting and delicious dishes, very friendly and professional team. Our service was at a 'relaxed' pace, which was no issue for us. If you are on a tighter schedule just mention it to the team and i am sure they will look after you and ensure things are more snappy.

I visited Lussmanns in Berkhamsted for dinner and ordered from the Locals Set Menu. There are lots of delicious options which are suitable for all types of eaters. For our starters, we went for MSC Manx kipper pâté and Woodland-reared Sussex ham hock terrine. Both are delicious and perfect sizes for starters. For the mains, we ordered the MSC fishcake and the North African spiced lamb-style mince flatbread. The fishcake was very filling and paired perfectly with the butter sauce which soaked it up nicely. The lamb-style mince flatbread was very tasty with a kick of spice! I was very impressed that it was a vegetarian dish. The lovely, friendly staff created a relaxing environment to eat in. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

We have been several times to Lussmans both with a group of friends and just us. The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere welcoming. Definitely one of our favourite places to eat in Berkhamsted. There is a lot of competition but I think Lussmans is one of the very best in town.

We have had several meals at Lussmanns, but today was our first time sitting in the delightful garden terrace. This restaurant just gets better and better! The staff are always both friendly and professional, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there is a choice of both a seasonal and set price menu. Food arrives beautifully presented, and delicious. In spite of recent spiralling costs, Lussmanns manage to keep their dishes fairly priced, which, in my opinion, is quite an achievement. There are a plethora of restaurants in Berkhamsted, but this one outshines them all. Thank you to all the staff who make this restaurant a joy to visit.
