Not hot & not on time.I ordered at 4 pm on a Monday, hardly the pizza rush hour but it still took over 45 minutes to arrive and was tepid at best on delivery. The assumably agency driver had marked the delivery as delivered a good while before they showed up, I assume as it would probably incur a penalty from the store if not delivered on time.I used to order at least once a week & looked forward to the red mini arriving with my piping hot food but now it's just an expensive indulgence which doesn't live up to expectations & to be charged an extra £2 for delivery is just extracting the urine, I fear the only time I will use them again in the future will be when they have a stupid deal on for collection.

Really nice pizzas, much better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. I started going there because I was driving past and thought I'd try their pizzas. They had a special £7.99 for a medium pizza you pick up, which I thought was quite reasonable, so I went twice and had the chicken fajitas pizza, which is really nice. On the third occasion, which was within a week, I went back, and the sign had been removed, and a handwritten piece of paper stuck close to the till stating the medium had gone up to £9.99. I bought a pizza, but at this price, I won't be able to have their pizzas very often. Great pizzas, though!

Have used this store since it opened a good few years ago, but in the last year or so the quality has REALLY gone downhill, whilst the prices seem to be ever increasing.Ordered a pizza the other night, there was barely any toppings (its not like pineapple is expensive, especially when paying £17 for a large pizza) and it was luke warm on arrival.Adding to the fact that they now also charge a delivery fee on top of the extortionate prices, you just feel totally cheated.Wont be using them again, theyre no better than supermarket pizzas that cost 4 or 5 quid.*EDIT* I suspect the recent positive reviews are connected to the new owners. I also suspect they run the franchise at the Hemel branch too, as they have also left positive reviews for them as well! --- Hmmm, bit suspicious!

Well Papa John's Pizza to say I was disappointed with your service this evening is an understatement. To send me a Pepsi max when I paid extra for a full fat Pepsi is bad enough. Then when I call to say it’s wrong, I’m told that the driver will bring me the correct drink. An hour later I call again to be told that I am “too far for the driver to come back”. Not acceptable. So I was told that the driver would be contacted to try again. 45 mins later still nothing so I call back and say that I’m assuming the driver isn’t coming. I get told there is a shortage of drivers and they cannot come back if something is wrong on an order. Interesting. Then when I ask for details of the franchise owner, I get told you don’t hold that information.
A manager then called me back to apologise for their employee and that they are new and “don’t know how to deal with customers”. I said that it’s a failing on the managers if employees don’t know how, as he clearly hasn’t been trained properly and that’s the fault of the management not the employees. The manager then asked me to explain the issue and in trying to do so, cut me off 4 times as I was speaking. I’m not surprised the employee doesn’t know how to deal with customers if this is the sort of thing they get shown. At least the employee allowed me to speak and listened to my complaint in a professional manner.
I’m then told that next time you deliver to me I will be brought a large bottle (I ordered a 500ml bottle) of Pepsi. We shall see.
Usually I’m not one to complain but EVERY TIME we have ordered from you and asked for full fat Pepsi we always get Pepsi Max and today I just couldn’t take it any more.
On a good note. The pizza and garlic bread sticks were as delicious as always

AVOID MASSIVE ALLERGY CONCERN!!!! After leaving a great review unfortunately after tonight's experience with the manager and staff at the harpenden branch I will now be avoiding Papa John's. I made a delivery for a vegan cheese pizza as my daughter has a milk ALLERGY after collecting my order and finding a milk cheese pizza I called the manager, he offered to replace the pizza! When I came to collect my pizza I explaining how serious the situation could have been had I not checked her pizza and he just laughed at me and joked with his work colleagues! If you have ALLERGIES AVOID SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERN

If you want a pizza delivered quickly and still hot, you can depend on the Papa in Harpenden. I ordered via the app and the tracker keeps you informed of the progress of your order. I particularly like the 50/50 option to have two different styles of toppings on one pizza.

Terrible customer service, got the order completely wrong and when phoned to inform them, they just argued and sent the delivery driver with a fake receipt! Even though I had email confirmation of my actual order from the night.Save your money and go to elsewhere!
