We booked in here to stay for my parents special wedding renewal last weekend, we paid on arrival and when shown to the room everything seemed fine, we headed downstairs for a meal with our 5 children, when we got back to our room and went to use our bathroom we noticed the toilet was in a right state, looked like a mixture of poo and sick dripping down the toilet, it was very dried on and obviously hadn't been cleaned at all! I'm not sure how this could of been missed! We spoke to the manager and he spent 15 minutes scraping the mess off the toilet then apologised and left, we then noticed we had no hot water and was told the boiler had broke, we just wanted a shower before bed as it had been a long day travelling. Ben took it upon himself to book a travelodge so we could shower but unfortunately we couldn't of driven there as we had a few drinks and the children were getting very tired, we then used my parents room for showering what was a inconvenience for them. The next morning we had breakfast and spoke to the waiter and said that we had noticed the sick from the toilet had sprayed up the vanity unit and we needed it cleaned! This wasn't sorted until 9.30pm that night, even though the cleaner if that's what you could of called him had been in our room and apparently cleaned it but the evidence was still there!! It was vile! At this point we hadn't used the bathroom at all. That wasn't the only problem there was holes in the bedding, bedding didn't fit the mattress, thick white limescale in the coffee machine and extremely dusty all over! We asked to speak to the manager again and he wasn't working, Matt the acting manager working Saturday night emailed the owner and we had messaged him as he gave us his number the day before and he avoided us and said he can sort it Monday! Monday came and he basically offered us one night refund, charging us for the £48 shower at the travelodge what we didn't ask for! Why should we be charged when paying for a service that you can offer!! Disgraceful! And still wanting us to pay for the second night. We tried to get another hotel but everything was fully booked locally. We had a food bill outstanding what we were happy to settle out of our package refund but what can be done when all communication has stopped. At the point my parents had renewed their vows and the party had started, this should of been a enjoyable weekend away but was made very stressful. We left the hotel by 7am on the Sunday, the customer service was awful and to top it all Ben the manager is avoiding my emails and now passing it onto head office and wont deal with it himself, I have emailed again asking for a contact for head office and once again he is avoiding my emails. Terrible customer service. The pub could be a lovely place if they got a decent manager, a proper cleaner not just someone who looked like he was homeless walking around the hotel with a bucket in his hand eesribg trackies and looked a mess. And apparently rented bedding well change the company!!If I could of given zero stars I would of!!Best avoid!ReplyI would suggest you checking your reviews on other pages! Trip advisor the last person staying with you had issues with cleanliness!! And another stating that the toilets were disgusting! Also you communal areas need a good hoover and the fire doors need a good wash, lots of dirt from hands!I was never rude to staff, I just pointed out the issues I had, maybe check back on cctv and you will see I was having a chat with the staff not being rude. Also you trying to charge us £48 to have a shower at another hotel was completely ridiculous, this should of been a cost you took on the chin as you couldn't provide us hot water.Enough said now.Again I would not recommend this hotel, completely unprofessional.

Good food, quirky but well equipped family room. Lovely lady serving the breakfast. Great location in center of town but with inexpensive car parking nearby.

Nice pub in Hemel Hempstead old town. It is near where we live, so we go there quite regularly.Normally the food is good but today we ordered nachos. Unfortunately they were not great.

Lovely place to stop for something to eat or just to have a drink. Completely dog friendly, water bowls inside the door, and a treat barrel on the shelf for your 4 legged friend.
