Went to visit this place bec it was recommended to my husband. The food was so tasty. Everything was grilled to perfection. The best lamb chops I have tasted so far. I am sure we will keep coming back here whenever we will have a chance. I am so glad it is only half an hour drive from our place. The staff were really welcoming and very friendly too.

Opuz Kitchen & Bar Hemel

A lovely way to celebrate with my husband, staff were so friendly and went over and beyond to do something special for my birthday. Food was delicious and the vibe in the restaurant was just right! :)

The Cochin Indian Restaurant, Hemel Hempstead

Can't recommend these guys enough. A very special restaurant serving unique south Indian cooking. The staff and the atmosphere are superb, I will be coming back frequently

White Horse

We have eaten at this pub as a family several times over the past year. It is one of our favourite restaurants. We love the fact that we can always take our dog with us anywhere in the restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We love the food. We go back regularly and for all special occasions. Highly recommend.

Marlowes Cafe & Restaurant

Absolutely stunning place.
The wall arts, decorations and atmosphere were perfect which are keeping you enjoying while waiting the food
The staff were really great, very attentive and very happy people.
The food was stunning and has very large choice of selection.
Definitely will be my first choice for a breakfast/brunch whenever I’m in the Hemel.

Marchmont Arms Piccotts End

A great place to eat and drink. We had a lovely time and very much enjoyed our food. The staff were friendly and attentive. Drinks were served promptly, and it was hassle-free to order them from our table. The food was delicious and well presented. Portions are fair and tasty. The menu is not over-complicated but will serve all palates and tastes. It was high-class dining from the Head Chef there. Thank you for looking after us and for the tasty food.
Parking is ample, garden is very nice for alfresco dining.

Dalchini

If you’re near Hemel and want a reliable, genuinely excellent Indian, Dalchini is hard to beat.

We go regularly. It’s consistently good, and the welcome is always spot on.

Last visit was particularly strong.
King Prawn Puri and Garlic Mushrooms both excellent.
Colombo Lamb was the standout. Deep flavour, perfectly cooked, genuinely memorable.
Saag paneer, pilau rice, and garlic naan all exactly as they should be.

What sets it apart is the staff. Friendly, attentive, and they remember you.

The restaurant is absolutely, incredibly good — truly outstanding. The service is perfect: everyone is extremely polite, warm, friendly, and always smiling.

The atmosphere made us feel like we were in Japan. The decoration is beautiful and authentic, and the calm Japanese music made it feel like we were inside a movie.

The food is delicious and arrived very quickly.

The cleanliness of the place is also remarkable, including the bathrooms, which were spotless.

Our experience in Creams was really good. The staff was so helpful and very friendly, they came up to us multiple times during our experience to make sure everything was going well.

Thank you to all the lovely helpful staff yesterday. We held our 4th Bovingdon reunion there. Everyone was very pleased and enjoyed their food, friendly service and atmosphere.

Fishery Inn Boxmoor

Came in for afternoon lunch with my work lot today. Greeted well from Rosie, she was lovely/ did a good job taking our order (large group - quite difficult) everyone got what they wanted. Food was delicious. Ps Hats of to the waiter that spilled the drinks, although these things happen, he laughed it off and gave a good environment.

Louis was our waiter. Outstanding in every way. Cheerful, always a smile, never rushing, always willing to help and ensure all is ok. 100% credit to the staff team at the Plough, Leverstock Green. The manageress welcomes us like family.
Recommend 100%. Lovely to be able to support a local pub/restaurant.

I was waiting in there because my car was being looked at in one of the garages close by. Very friendly people, I had a mocha and a bacon sandwich. The bacon was done exactly how I liked it so I will be back there again soon. They said treat this place like home, stay for as long as you like ?

Went there on Sunday I had never been there before, but went on a recommendation, We were certainly not disappointed, the quality and presentation of the food was excellent, definitely going back again.

Thank you to Ahmed and team for making my birthday memorable. We have tried all the Olive restaurants and have always had delicious food and excellent service. Ahmed was very attentive throughout our time there. We love the menu always trying something different from the tasty dishes.

Alford Arms

We had a genuinely lovely mothers day meal at the Alford Arms. It helped that the sun was shining and the daffodils and countryside looked amazing but more than that, EVERYONE we met that worked at the pub was friendly, welcoming and dedicated to great service. It makes such a difference when a team operates like that. In addition the food was top notch - we mostly had delicious roasts and there was a varied kids menu to satisfy my niece. We particularly liked the concept of 'invisible chips' where a donation is made to Hospitality in Action. I only rated atmosphere 4 stars which was to do with the general level of noise for my parents in their 80s, but for me, it was buzzy and great and so lovely to see somewhere so busy and appreciated. Thank you Alford Arms team!

Haven't been there for over a year. Went Last Sunday for car show and Breakfast. It was so good Went back today with the Wife, Kids and Grandchildren. All of us loved the venue, friendliness of the staff and the food and drinks where the best. Will definitely return and Recommend.

I have visited this great pub multiple times, both with family and friends. The atmosphere is always great; staff is really friendly and welcoming. Drinks are very reasonably prices for the area. After the most reset visit with a friend, she said she will be coming here from now on instead of her usual pub in the area!

Toby Carvery Hemel Hempstead

Toby Carvery Hemel Hempstead popped in after spending the day at warehouse 66 after buying way to many books. I always worry about eating out due to my nut allergy but the moment we got sat down at a table and our server Holly came over, she was super sweet brought over a iPad to check my allergy and offered to help any way she could. Amazing service and super polite and kind. I ate my food which was great and felt comfortable in the knowledge there was not nuts in any of it. Very please and big thank you to Holly.

Pizza Express

Massive thank you for the lovely lady who served us here last night. It's that smile and friendliness that will generate return business. Never caught her name, but she had beautiful dreadlocks. A real credit to pizza express.

Fish & Chips (lawn lane fish & chips)

Amazing fish n chips shop . Tastes how a proper chip shop should be. No funny coating on chips and always hot and lovely . Even their salt n vinegar is spot on . Not that tasteless stuff you find in other places that skimp on it or is tasteless. These guys are very welcoming and polite in shop , fast at serving and friendly. For someone who hated chip shops has me converted and I need a fresh bag of chips after a long shift sometimes with a pie maybe. My son also is now loving this chip shop but he's not nicking my chips , he can get his own ? ! Way Best Best in Hemel. keep it up guys ! ?

The Top Of The World

Carla is absolutely amazing! She’s always friendly, welcoming, and goes out of her way to make everyone feel at home. Her service is spot on every time — quick, attentive, and always with a smile. She really adds to the atmosphere and makes visiting the pub such a great experience. Couldn’t ask for better service!

Raja Tandoori

We just had a takeaway from here and had to collect as their website wouldn’t recognise our address. That said, the food was ready right on time and absolutely incredible. Everything was so tasty and the portion sizes were good size. Will definitely be coming back again!

Wow. Just wow. I am dumbfounded at my experience at bourne end Mcdonald’s. In particular, one employee named Elliot Michel, or should I say, future mcdonald’s CEO, enriched my experience two-fold. I have never met a more polite, hardworking and dedicated young man! I’d give it 13, maybe 12 years until he runs the whole company! Hats off to you elliot!

Hive Coffee Shop + Night Cafe

Ordered two iced vanilla lattes today. They were deliciousss and served in amazing takeaway cups I've never seen before - tall sturdy vessels secured with a can-style lid. Love!

Unfortunately I felt a bit blindsided to be charged £4.90 per coffee when the blackboard suggested it would only be £4.30 (£3.80 for a latte + 50p for vanilla syrup) - hopefully the owner will let me know if I've missed something!

We've just moved to the area so as a new local joint I can see myself going back - the coffee really was delicious - but will apply some caution given the price discrepancies.

The Olde Kings Arms

We stayed at The Olde Kings Arms in Hemel Hempstead from September 5th to 7th and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere of both the hotel and the surrounding area was truly charming. Our room was very cozy and perfectly clean. The staff were fantastic – friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Breakfast was simply amazing, with several delicious options to choose from. The restaurant menu was just as impressive – tasty dishes served in generous portions. We especially recommend trying the traditional fish and chips. And as a bonus, they even serve Staropramen on tap – maybe not perfectly poured, but still, they serve it! ?

I had a fantastic experience at Chiang Mai Cottage. From the moment I walked in, the place felt warm and inviting, with that cosy, traditional Thai atmosphere that makes you relax straight away. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, and everything moved at a comfortable, effortless pace.

The food was the real highlight. Every dish tasted fresh, balanced, and full of flavour — exactly what you want from proper Thai cooking. The curry was rich and aromatic without being overwhelming, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Even the rice had that subtle fragrance you only get when it’s made with care.

The whole experience felt personal, calm, and authentic. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a quiet meal, good conversation, and food that stays with you long after you leave. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Zeera indian restaurant

Chicken Pasanda was so delicious and so was the mushroom rice. We had a take away and even today I still can taste it although we had the take away 1 week ago. I look forward to trying out some of their other dishes.

A regular place for us. Very friendly staff..great food options for both veg and meat. Food is consistantly good. Portions are veey good.

Efeler BBQ

An exceptional Turkish restaurant that delivers flavour, hospitality, and atmosphere at the highest level. The food was outstanding — everything from the starters to the mains tasted freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned. The grilled meats were tender and juicy, full of authentic charcoal flavour, and the portions were generous. The mezze selection was also excellent, full of variety and vibrant flavours.

Service was just as impressive. The staff were polite, fast, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They made sure the table was always clean and that drinks and dishes arrived on time. I appreciated the genuine friendliness — it felt like they truly cared that we enjoyed the meal.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for families or groups of friends. The decor is modern yet cozy, and the open grill adds to the authentic experience. Prices are very fair for the quality you get, especially considering the portion sizes.

I highly recommend Efeler BBQ to anyone who loves Turkish cuisine or simply wants a great dining experience. I’ll definitely come back — easily one of the best BBQ restaurants in the area.

The food here is FRESH delicious, and I would recommend the chicken breast wrap and the Peri Peri loaded chips.

The staff here are great and the owner is accommodating.

Overall definitely an underrated place!

K2 Balti House

We have just had our anniversary meal here, the whole experience was amazing! A beautiful restaurant with a wonderful,up market and welcoming atmosphere. It’s an incredibly clean and tidy restaurant and the service and food was exceptional with a blend of flavours and lots on offer on the menu, they even amended a dish for my wife who is vegetarian, the k2 chicken tikka masala was one of the best masala I have ever had. The price was very fair for this kind of quality. The owner and manager was very kind, welcoming and generous as were the staff and service overall.
We will definitely be coming back again in the future and highly recommend to others especially for an authentic and higher end feeling Indian restaurant.

Farmhouse Pizza (Hemel Hempstead)

I got pizza from here a few days ago. They were very nice and the toppings were very generous. The pizza thin base tasted delicious. The owner was very nice when I called about nuts in any of the food and he explained they had no nuts in any of their food. The only thing I am waiting for is the donor pizza to come back.

Peri Peri Original Hemel Hempstead Marlowes

If I could give more stars for service, I would.I went in today and was greeted pleasantly by the lady behind the counter.The food was ready in under 10 minutes and was very tasty and fresh.Upon leaving, I got to my car and realised part of my order wasn't in there. I called the restaurant to let them know and say i was coming back. The lady immediately knew who i was, apologised, and offered to bring the missing part of my order to me! She came to my car, which was parked a good 5/7 minute walk away, very apologetic, and handed me my missing order. Once I opened the reunited wings, I was pleasantly surprised she had given me an extra wing for the inconvenience!Made my day! Great service great food!

Fishery Wharf Cafe

Up from Norfolk visiting my brother who lives local - suggested this place for breaky before I headed back. It didn't disappoint opted for the Avocado, Poached Eggs and Bacon on toasted sourdough - wow is ALL i can say enjoyed with a large mug of English Breakfast tea. Definately looking forward to a return visit.

Absolutely love this pub.
It's a great music venue with plenty of varied artists and groups Tuesday night is open mic brings some real talent to the fore.
We've been going there for about four years and really recently introduced friends who absolutely love it too.
Spent many a Sunday afternoon enjoying the bands as well as Christmases on New Year's Eves.
Service is good alcohol prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere is great
Everyone is very friendly and it's a lovely pub to be in.

The Crown & Sceptre PH

Nothing fancy, just a proper local pub with good beer and home cooked food. Giving a 5 star rating as the pie was homemade and very good. Beer was well kept too. Don’t come here thinking it’s gastro pub as it’s not, but if you want pub classics at a reasonable price in a friendly atmosphere then this will suit you nicely. Menu can be found on the chalk boards. Beer garden and outside seating for good weather. We do like it here and don’t visit often enough.

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had today . A warm welcome fr in the lady taking the orders plenty of help and assistance . The cafe was justifiably busy because the food was delicious served quickly and in a friendly way . The food was hot and well cooked. We just loved the experience. Super Chef

Visited Super Chef for the first time today. The place was very clean, and the staff were very welcoming!! I had Green tea and a build-my-own breakfast of black pudding, bubble and Squeak, sausage, scrambled eggs and peas (Strange choice, I know...), and it was fantastic. The portion sizes were soo big as well!! I would definitely recommend this place to come to for a hearty meal!!

I regularly order Fireaway pizzas through Just Eat from the Luton, Watford, and Hemel Hempstead branches. While all provide a good standard of service, the Hemel Hempstead branch consistently stands out for its quality and flavour.And the pizzas here ?Seriously addictive.They have got a special taste you don’t get at other branches.

Di Capri Pizza

Hands down, the best pizzeria in town — even for takeaway! The pizza was perfectly baked, full of flavor, and still warm when we got it home. The staff were very kind, and as a bonus, we even received a free drink from the house. Amazing service and amazing food. I will definitely order again!

The White Hart

First time in Hemel and had some time to kill. Came for a Cheeky pint on the off chance. And the beer was immaculate. One of the best Madrid’ I’ve had in a long time. Lines are well kept and you can tell glasses are clean as no bubbles are sticking to the side of the glass. If you want a good pint this is the place to go.

The Steam Coach

Went here last night before a gig in the Boxmoor playhouse which is very close by.
Yes it’s just a pub but it’s full of character and characters ?
Nice bar and lots of different places to eat and drink including the “naughty corner” ??
Great choice of ? but other drinks available ?
Food looked good but no time to try it (maybe next time) ?
Great outside space at the front full f people enjoying a night out-good vibes maybe locals ?????

The Royal

We ordered the Don deluxe set menu for two and were very impressed. Firstly it was nice to find somewhere we felt was really well priced, especially given the generous portion sizes. Secondly we just loved the food, every dish was full of flavour and arrived hot. This was our first time ordering from the Royal (via Deliveroo) but will definitely be back!

The Paper Mill, Apsley

Not the cheapest food, but you get what you pay for as the quality is always excellent. Really friendly staff, bubbly atmosphere, family and dog family. Lovely outside seating next to the canal. Private function room available to hire upstairs in the venue.

River Spice

Lovely variety of curries and sides, something for every taste. Nice Indian spices used and can have it chilly to your liking. Would recommend. Lovely service from the staff too.

I’ve been here multiple times.The service offered is always impeccable and the team are always going the extra mile. Having a car wash on site makes it a good place to sit and enjoy a drink whilst getting your car washed.Great food quality and a warm inviting atmosphere .Asad and Zico are always willing to make your visit memorable.

This pub was out of this world, We had a lovely time, lovely food and lovely service Very dog friendly, I cant fault this place in any way what so ever, as for all the negative reviews its so not what they suggest. We was greeted with a smile and felt like we was part of the family being in the pub, it was the most amazing atmosphere, I have to say as a boater and a man of middle age I been to many pubs in the UK and this by far is the best I have been too, you the owners and your staff should be very proud as I have been too visit your establishment today and will defo be coming back in passing #keepitup..

This is a lovely branch of Greggs - the best in the area. Food is always good. The staff are all great but special mention to Julie in particular who is always so helpful and friendly. She gives the place a really welcoming atmosphere ?

The Full House - JD Wetherspoon

Quite enjoy going to the Full House. Over the years it's had alsorts of reputations but I would say don't let the past put you off, it's definitely improved and is a very enjoyable place to go. A refurbishment a few years ago has really brought back to life and has helped ensure it looks clean and modern.
If you're seeking a Whetherspoons with a bit of local history then this will be a great stop for you. It also boasts a rather long bar so you won't struggle to get served unless the stars align and it's pay day and a bank Holiday weekend.
The staff are very accommodating and friendly, our visit today was no exception. From service at the bar to the front of house team, everyone was great. Swift service at the bar and then keeping the tables and floors clean whilst ensuring diners had everything they need to enjoy their meal. An enjoyable experience.

I mean wow, staff were nothing but absolutely brilliant. I work at a pub and customer service is one of the most top priorities. I can’t say one bad thing or anything they could work on. Millennium Kebab House

Millennium Kebabs is always my go-to. I usually order the donner meat and chips with red cabbage only, and it’s always spot on. The portion sizes are generous, the meat is cooked well, and the chips are fresh every time.

Staff are quick and polite, and even when it’s busy the order comes out fast. They always get it right, which makes a big difference compared to other takeaways I’ve tried.

Consistently good food and reliable service – exactly what you want from a local kebab house.

New Happy Garden

This was my first time in the New Happy Garden in Queens Square and I was not disappointed, neither was my wife.
The 'reception' is a bit stark with unpainted wood framework but as the old adage goes, you can't judge a book by its cover.
I had vegetables in black bean sauce, my wife had beef in no black bean sauce, we shared a special fried rice and some small vegetable spring rolls.
The food came before the quoted time, which is a well known ploy of all manner of retailers, not just purveyors of food, as the customer is already impressed prior to testing the goods.
The food was delicious. Not too much, not too little, not too spicy etc.
Based on our experience at the weekend, I imagine that we will be back but then there are so many from which to choose.

Subway

Staff are alright, glad the kiosks are in most stores though, wish they weren’t so tight on the salad options though. Wish it was cheaper to have a subway, hence why I don’t come often.
