Beer not great and seemed like we were ruining the day of the staff member by having to serve

Superb pub for both beer and conversations. My parents used to go there in 50s and 60s (myself miss in late 80s) when it was ran by Connie, a tiny lady if I remember correctly basically a couple of barrels in her front room. Updated now, of course, but empathically so. Still a great pleasure to visit as a pub in itself as well as my personal nostalgia!

100% recommend this pub. We recently held a 50th birthday in the private upstairs rooms here. We had the best night. The pub has so much charm and character - it made our party feel special and unique. Huge shout-out to David, the Landlord, who went above and beyond to provide a great spread of food and helped us make the party such a fun night. He was so accommodating and easy going - he basically let us have whatever we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. Overall, we had the best night, and I highly recommend the White Horse for any special occasion - it's a gem.

No alcohol free beers available due to a wedding the day before ! Surely staff would go out this morning and get some ? So ordered a raspberry mocktail , no raspberry's either ! Roast dinner was ok ish , a bit cold , roast potatoes hard , just no taste , I have had better roast dinners in the Toby , shame it's a lovely venue , staff good too . I just will not rush back there .

Decent old English pub near the centre of town.

Beautifully small, olde worlde, a real traditional pub without the conveniences / range of a more modern pub.

Gorgeous old pub with a superb selection of real ales and craft beers on tap. The friendliest staff in town that make you feel so welcome. We visited for lunch with our toddler and all polished the lot off! Great vegetarian options and the ‘best fish and chips’ my husband has had in a long time. So lucky to have this place as our local.

Arrive early or even book to guarantee a table for the limited choice but excellent food.I recommend the chicken pot pie and the balmoral chicken. Also the Mozzarella and halloumi fries are really tasty

This seems like a really nice pub. The food was good. But sadly my first trip there was disappointing, despite us having pre booked the table 2 months in advance and requesting a high chair on booking we were not given one. This meant that my 1 year old had to sit on laps and walk around the pub during the whole meal. It made it very difficult for my husband and I to eat our meal. I was shocked that they had so few high chairs and I felt really quite disappointed that my child was not treated like a person and was unable to be given a seat for our meal out.Not a family friendly pub unfortunately. Buy some more high chairs and be welcoming to those with little ones.

Went in on Friday night. Candles and low lighting gave what is an ancient, very interesting and quirky pub, a great atmosphere. It was busy in both bars.My pint ( London pride) was first class. No loud music no TVs no gimmicks. Just good beer and good conversation. This pub so deserves to be busy every night. The hosts seem to care about the pub it’s beer and customers. I fully recommend it.
