Staff are attentive and the owner has a remarkable memory. Always remembers your name and dietary preferences. Food and service is great, prices are v good too.Great place for younger families if you have kids that aren't the quietest! There's often a mix of young families and retirees.Vegetarian options: Kitchen are happy for you to pick and choose items to make vegetarian and vegan meals, excluding or exchanging items as needed.

1st time visit. Walked in and straight away one of the waitresses came over and asked if they could help. Ordered coffee and cakes at till and our order was bought to our table. The muffin was huge and did not disappoint. Excellent service.

Like a warm hug in this place for me today.'Reviews based on what the place is marketing for, in this case, slighlty high end greasy spoons in my opinion'.I was very stressed rushing in here to take a meeting in 15 minutes. However, within that time, they had taken my order (bacon roll and a oat milk coffee) and brought it over, with kindness and a smile. Immeadiatly calming me down. This is a lovely cafe, often bustling, occassionally calm, staff are very flexible and kind.Only not a 5, as i'd suggest given more/bigger/thicker napkins, i'd shredded through min in about 2 mouthfuls, and maybe some hot sauce and maybe slightly better produce? Although buy as they do is probably why its at such good prices, which i knew coming here.Friendly, warm classic cafe, in centre of town.

After making the effort to walk to the cafe at 8:15 only to find the cafe is closed for private event. No mention on their website or facebook. And no apology! Very poor customer service.
Have visited this place on several occasions now and also for takeaway coffee when cafes could only do takeaway. Have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. Very Covid friendly and I felt safe here. The coffee is one of the best in Hitchin. I have not eaten here yet so can not comment on the menu but the food I did see looked delicious. Have now recently eaten here and I can honestly say the food tastes as good as it looks.

Sadly the eggs were all dirty at the bottom. Not alot of people think to check the bottom of the egg but please do. The material from what they cook the eggs on comes off onto the eggs. A black material from the grill. A £9 'full english' consists of x1 small sausage, x1 dirty egg with black on bottom ( i have photos) ,2 bits of fatty bacon .. was not impressed for the price paid for my family plus the black eggs..

Food was well presented and cooked nicely. Waiting staff could have been a little more cheerful, and welcoming. Clean throughout and well maintained. Good breakfast selections.

Great local cafe serving simple and delicious food. They get very busy yet stay on top of it. Staff are fantastic.

Despite the name I would consider this a "dinner" style of eat-in. Not that that is a bad thing, the food here was excellent and the service was great, really friendly staff. Prices are below average and the menu is huge ! Plenty of options for everyone. I ordered the burger special breakfast and most of it was amazing. The only thing stopping it getting 5 stars was the egg was not cooked completely (runny white). Definitely going to go again though, perhaps ordering scrambled to be safe...
