Very lovely pub. We sat by the fire and one of the locals kept putting logs on the fire. It was uncomfortably hot as we were the only ones sitting by the fire. Came for Christmas dinner menu to celebrate my mums birthday. Service was very slow but friendly. Food was great when it came. One of our party didn’t get his starter. Not sure we would come again at Christmas

Lovely pub, seating for bar area and sports, but also another area for the restaurant, we didn't go into the outdoor seating because of the weather but that looks nice too, they have some good value deals throughout the week, however we went on a Sunday, but we will be back for sure!Great food and very helpful staff, can't fault the place.

Alright pub, pricey. Just left as girl behind bar clearly didn't want to serve us (early evening 14/09/23) ignored us and made a point that if we wanted to be served she wasn't coming to us sitting at the bar. Have never been in a bar with such inattentive staff, they should be happy to serve everyone not just their friends. please pay attention.Unfortunately this review will be totally ignored by the management and staff at Rickmansworth's 'ignore who you want' pub

Seriously, what has happened to this place?!?! Used to be the best pub around by a mile - great ale, great food. The beer in the last few years has mostly been undrinkable, last 'roast' we ate had been double cooked with griddle marks on, what!?We keep going back in hope for what used to be, it's a beautiful pub - but unfinished drinks and unfinished food is wearing thin.

A really nice looking pub with great beer garden. Shame about the mediocre roast dinners, and dismissiveness of management to deal with a poor wine recommendation (it tasted like vinegar). A pub as nice as this should have been heaving on a Sunday - so much potential.

So I pop in here for a cheeky pint whilst I wait for my son to finish work.Beautiful old pub with a large garden, always providing enough seating . Bar staff seem very helpful and friendly .

The beer was terrible and we complained about the beer and asked to replace a pint that was flat. We were immediately asked to leave. Worst pub in my life! Will never go back.

Reasonably priced food, friendly service. Used to be a dog friendly pub with dog treats on the bar and staff offering dog water bowl. This is no longer the case. You can bring your dog in but no treats or water offered.

13 of us sat outside. Food was lovely, arrived quickly and a great beer selection too. We'll be back.
