We recently dined at Masala Bowl and were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by two staff members, Shivangi and Monica. From the moment we walked in, they greeted us with warmth and professionalism, making us feel immediately welcome. Throughout the meal, they were attentive, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on, enhancing our culinary journey. Their genuine enthusiasm and dedication truly made our visit memorable. I commend Shivangi and Monica for their outstanding service and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Masala Bowl.

I saw the doner kebab from afar and wanted to try it because I realized it was real doner. It wasn't one of those frozen doner kebabs like in central London. We immediately started chatting with Alparslan and he wanted to buy me one, I tried it and I gave everyone around me a bite and everyone wanted to eat. As a Turk I can say this is the best doner kebab I've had in the UK. Thank you Alparslan and well done ?

John, Callum and Sasha might actually be some of my favourite people.This is THE perfect pub to come to for a little countryside fare and chill.On at least a monthly basis I come up here to see my goddaughter and best friends - and we always end up at the Shep, because this is the best place around. Can’t get a better plate of nachos in this county, staff are second to none, you feel at home with plenty of locals AND there are veggie options.An excellent pub that deserves all of the love. So cosy and loads of events on too. Come down, meet new friends.

This is not your usual Bangladeshi curry house swimming in oil and full of sugar. This is stunning food with a varied, original menu. Best curry for miles around. Always great food and great service. Top tip - get a load of starters to share with others, and maybe just a couple of mains.

Friendly pub, good service and fantastic Sunday roast. Very generous portion with a good gravy, proper cauliflower cheese and herby potatoes. The beef a little too well done for me but moist and my companion enjoyed their lamb! Delicious crumble, again a very good portion side with hot homemade custard. Really happy with the roast and possibly the best I’ve had in the area in 3 years! Lovely atmosphere in a historic pub, quiet countryside location for really peaceful walks. Friendly clientele and staff. Only downside I will say is that their toilet smells quite potently of countryside so that’s pretty authentic!Parking: Lots of space for cars

Nicest pub in Rickmansworth and great history for the past five hundred years. Cosy inside and old pub atmosphere is very nice with plenty of seating both inside and out. Dog friendly and great menu.On our last visit the bar service was much too slow for how many staff work here, need more staff behind the bar.Sat outside and would have liked to sit in the sun but all the umbrella's are up... would be much better if they weren't out until it actually gets hot... otherwise we will be back on our next walk through Ricky.

I've been here a couple of times prior and came along with my family a week ago to celebrate my mum. It was a Saturday lunch and the place was pretty quiet in the vinyard (we were in the igloo?) However, we waited ages for our food to come. This was unlike my previous experience there. We wondered why service was so slow, till Sean, the lovely new chef took time to come speak with us and apologized for delay, explaining he had just taken over from the chef who had quit without notice the previous day. All the same, food was lovely considering the pressure and unplanned circumstances and the lovely young lady who waited on us (I think her name may be Jackie) was really patient in taking our large order (9 of us). We were compensated with desserts ?. We will return again.

We just became members. Really nice atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Hold quiz nights and dos. Also has a darts team on a Monday night £22 per couple for the year. That's good going. If your from the area go get a membership

Totally brilliant classic cafe. Menu has every breakfast item, including black pudden and bubble and squeak. Omelettes, baked spuds and roast beef and lamb dinners. Salads and grilled chicken dishes for the calorie concious. I had a thick banana milkshake, and ate liver, bacon, onions and chips with peas. The onions tasted like the aroma at fairgrounds, where they don't! Delicious... and rich gravy. Just totally comfort food, all served by diamond staff. I realised that I'd need more than one serviette, but before I could ask, youngster just saw the need and brought a couple over. That, or telepathy. Cappuccino to finish... THICK yum layer, lots of choccy dust. Heaven. Parking is your only issue!
