Good food, good service and great company

I arranged a large group dinner for 32 people here, the second time we have met here. As previously, the food and service was excellent and everyone was happy.

Lovely old Inn in the centre of Royston. The staff were terrific. Helpful and very friendly. Serving Abbot ale was a massive plus, as was the sun blazing down in the lovely courtyard. I suspect being a major listed building changes are difficult to achieve but it’s a great historic place for a visit.

Went for lunchFood & drinks: Food was really nice although a little pricey

Very overpriced. The barman who obviously didn't gave a clue asked me if I wanted a pint glass for my double vodka and coke. How do these places survive?

We didn't stay at the hotel. We had a meal in the restaurant. I was not very happy with the meal. The prices differed from the prices on their website. It was more expensive when we got there and the menus had differed. The steak was supposed bto be with chunky chips but we got skinny fries. The burger was very dry and the bacon was really bad. The experience was not great. The starter was ok. There are nicer places for the money

I stayed here for a few nights while working locally. It’s in a great central location and if you’re lucky you’ll get a free parking space at the rear. Parking is free after 3pm on the car park a few metres away from the rear entrance. I had a warm welcome which was nice. The room is basic but had a comfortable bed, however for the price the standard of room is just not good enough really. The noise in the room from the pub ends around 11pm (even midweek) and starts up at 6.30am with the kitchen firing up the extraction for the kitchen. So if you are a light sleeper bring your earplugs. The towels in the room are small and barely fit round an adult. Annoyingly my teabags wasn’t stocked up during my stay and the tea at breakfast in the flask is cold, thankfully they do bring out teapots on request. The best part of the stay was the breakfast, it’s fantastic and good quality too. Top marks for that.Walkability: Easy to walk around town. Some nice Thai food locally

A pleasant enough stay and reasonable value for money. I would visit again if I needed to stay in Royston.

Had my 50th birthday party up in the function rooms. The staff were amazing, really helpful and very relaxed. The rooms were great and I had a great night, along with 120 guests. Some people stayed at the hotel and were happy with the accommodation. There is loads of parking in the council car park right next door to the property and this has no parking restrictions on Sunday - so perfect for my Saturday night party. Thanks guys, you come highly recommended! Paul

My wife and I went here for my cricket club's annual dinner. We all had a really nice time. The venue was amazing and so was the food. The starters, mains and the desserts were very tasty and very generous in portion size. The staff were very friendly as well.I would definitely recommend The Old Bull Inn Hotel if you want to hire a venue or have a cozy meal out.Thank you ?
