“Thursday night so almost the weekend and almost October. So a good excuse to enjoy The Gate pub and their amazing Gate Burger served with kale slaw and sweet potato fries washed down with well kept real ale. We also had the Chicken Supreme with so tasty mushroom sauce and sides. Plum Crumble & custard to finish the evening. Evan looked after us amazingly. Lovely highly recommended village pub with good summer garden.”

“An old English pub in the centre of town. To be honest, I've never been there outside of Pub in the Park. When I get there, the atmosphere is great as the place is absolutely packed out and conversations floe pretty easily. At the same time, the bar is packed and can take a long time to get served. I enjoy it but might not be what everyone else is looking for”

“Lovely roast dinner for two. Left it too late to book (do not make the same mistake as it is obviously popular) . However, helpful staff said pop by and we will try to fit you in. Found us a perfect table. Ample size, perfectly cooked meat and vegetables. Friendly good customer service. Excellent value for money compared with other local restaurants. Now going to be a regular visit.”
