Going to Thompson is a full experience and not just a basic dinner with some banality courses that don't say anything to your night. It's a full experience where the wine and food blend together in such a manner that couldn't be anything else that a good night. The chef deserves a full compliment, and the friendly team will take care of you in such a manner that you'll feel important fr9m the first step in the restaurant. Thank you so much for a lovely evening! We will come back with the first occasion!

A fabulous afternoon spent in the private dining room. 9 course taster menu for 12 friends. Lovely service, beautiful seasonal food and fun cocktails. Thank you so much for hosting us so well.

We recently held a Directors' dinner at Thompson St Albans and everything was superb. The food was exquisite, the service top class and the conservatory that we had to ourselves worked really well for our party of 20. Thank you to Phil and team for making the evening so memorable.

Went to Thompson to celebrate my birthday. The whole evening and experience cannot be faulted. 10 of us dined and they accommodated us beautifully. . Thank you Phil and your entire team, front and back of house, for an amazing experience. Our group will be back, both as a group and individually too.

It was the slowest and least eventful dinner I’ve ever eaten at 4 hours long for no apparent reason. We got the 9 course tasting menu and it was nice….Just nice. But to be made to wait around 45 minutes or more between some dishes is just too long. The waitress at one point presented a caviar and seaweed dish only to call it a ‘seaweed thingy’. The staff were nice but not as professional as I’d expect from a place with such a price tag and the dining room was uninspired, boring and somewhat tacky which is odd when dinner nears £400! I’ve never left a review before but felt it my duty to with this restaurant as it really fell short of my (not very high) expectations. Price aside it just wasn’t a very pleasant or enjoyable experience, the whole thing felt like it was lacking in every area, the food was not particularly special in any way and the decor was hardly any better. I’d always wanted to visit and I now I know what it’s like I’d never go again, real shame and I hate to say a rip-off.

Food is inventive and very tasty. Service is always fantastic. Not cheap but lovely treat if you like a good taster menu.

Superb 9 course tasting menu and accompanying wine flight which had 8 glasses not 9 coming to near £550 for two people. Highly recommended.
