Absolutely fabulous roast dinner! We had to ask the chefs names as the roast was out of this world. A massive complaints to Q & Mo. We will definitely be back.Service was amazing, Amy and the lady working alongside her such friendly lovely staff. So welcoming. Me and my friend are so happy with coming to The Crown. Keep up the good work. Fantastic xParking: Wide range of parkingKid-friendliness: Plenty of room and I saw a children’s play area in the garden.Wheelchair accessibility: The staff catering for a wheel chair user as we was here at the time a wheel chair came in.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times late last year and I’d happily eat there again. The food is good, it’s a little bit more contemporary and adventurous than many country pubs but I wouldn’t quite call it a gastropub. Service has always been very good, table service especially for our visit mid December. My favourite feature of this pub though is the vast multi level beer garden, fantastic in the summer with lots of different areas to sit, great for a big group, but still manages to offer a few cosy corners too. Great spot for warm evening drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: Access to the bar and inside seating good, some areas of the outdoor garden are terraced so may be harder to access though there is ample ground level seating outside.

A most enjoyable lunch today. Food was excellent and very much recommend the roast beef! Service was excellent with charming waitress. Dining area very comfortable and interesting if you are an equine fan! All round a very enjoyable lunch.

The are located down a little lane, which isn't really their fault. The parking is good though. The place looked nice enough. It is not acceptable that they DON'T TAKE CASH. The food was nice, though small and expensive. The drinks were almost twice as expensive as in a pub in Cambridgeshire that I went to a week before. The burger, to which I added an egg, needs to be wider for its height. The waitress, whose name I did not get, was very good.

Was excited to try this place on a cold winters day. Walked in, the place was dead quiet, there was only what appeared to be the owner sat with some people. We asked if the fire could be lit and the waitress was really friendly and asked the owner for us who literally couldn’t care less and said she was waiting for logs to be delivered (when we walked out the pub there was a pile of logs sitting outside the door :-). The food arrived, it wasn’t great, wasn’t horrendous but I wouldn’t go there again. The waitress was super friendly and helpful but the vibe from the owner was so off putting she basically made us feel unwelcome and I’m now put off for good which is a shame because it’s my local. Ah well…there’s other pubs to try. It’s also looking a bit worse for wear, if they were friendlier to their customers I’m sure it would be really popular, such a good location. Went to the chequers later in the day and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, they lit the fire for us and greeted us with a smile. Don’t need much more really but the crown couldn’t even afford a smile ! Disappointed.

Great food and good service. Availability to book a table the day before which was ideal. Will definitely come back.

Lovely pub with great food and lovely service. Especially Ros who is a lovely young lady and always has a smile on her face and is great with customers. I always look forward to coming here.

We chose this lovely old pub just outside Stevenage for my father's wake after the funeral. There were about 40 people at the wake. Parking was plentiful, the pub was warm and inviting and the staff were absolutely marvellous. Everything went to plan, there were plenty of bar staff serving drinks and plenty of space in the pub for us all to sit and chat. We had pre-booked a selection of sandwiches and hot bites. These were all delicious (I especially liked the sausage rolls), the sandwiches were lovely with a great selection of fillings, and everyone had plenty to eat. We would like to thank all the staff, both front of house and in the kitchen, for all they did for us. I would not hesitate to recommend this pub for anyone who wants to arrange a special event, no matter what kind of event that is.

Very cute country pub we stopped by after a pub walk! We only ordered sandwiches off the lunch menu but they were very good, along with the fries and potato salad. Definitely hoping to sit in the nice beer garden on a sunnier day!

Excellent service by Amy and Cameron. The food by chef Ben was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we chose from the new autumn menu was perfectly executed and really tasty. We will be back for more!

We were served by Amy who is a wonderful waitress. She was friendly and very attentive without being pushy.

Lovely to see such a thriving pub. Aside from all of the normal Sunday trade, they also had a 10 Yr old birthday party and our large party. It was heaving, but still ran well. Plenty of separate seating areas, plus the children's playground and a very cool outside screen playing a movie for the little ones. Decent sized car park with some considerate parking. Ordering food was a bit difficult, until we realised that the app wasn't working properly that day and only processing drinks orders. Ordered food at the bar, gave the lady our table number, paid and sat back down. Plenty of runners for the food and drink, and the food was very nice. Ordered a child's meal and the chicken was incredibly soft, very impressed. Next time I visit, I will not follow my satnav as it took me down a very thin country road by Frogmore Park.
