Jody was an amazing waitress. You are very lucky to have such a passionate and bubbly member of staff. 10 / 10 wild suggest to ask for Jody.

You know what to expect here. A plateful of good food, your own choice of both meats and veggies all at a very reasonable price. And although it is buffet style you still get table service from attentive if rather busy waiters and waitresses. Went with a pre-booked group and all worked very smoothly. Ideal place for a group when at least there is some chance of pleasing everybody!Parking: Ample parking with blue badge placesWheelchair accessibility: Although it is a bit cramped and one section has a couple of steps there is ample accessible space for wheelchair users and staff are very helpful. On the day we went there was a noticeable number of customers with restricted mobility and all seemed well accommodated.

For value for money, Toby can't be beaten! OK, it's not gourmet cuisine, but the amount of food you get for not very much, is fantastic. The carver vanished with no explanation for several minutes before I got my food, which was a bit disquieting, but the young woman on table service was pleasant and chatty. All in all, it was a great place to go for a pre-football meal. Pity the match had to be postponed because Stevenage FC couldn't get the floodlights working. Qué Sera, at least we had some good grub.Parking: Easy peasy

We booked for 1830. Table wasn’t clean when seated. Waited nearly 10 mins for drinks order to be taken. Told to go get food and cutlery and drinks would be on the table by the time we get back. Spent 10 mins getting carvery. No drinks or cutlery at table when back. Waited another 10 mins for these. Waited another 15 mins and only after complaining did we receive the chipolatas that came with king upgrade which were undercooked. We’d eaten most of dinner by this point so left them. Not impressed at all.

Came here on a very busy Sunday but the service was still second to none. Food was fantastic, had to wait in line for a while but there was no problem with it. Exceptional service especially from Darren upon arrival and Saphi who was dealing with our section. Both members of staff had a constant smile on their face and nothing was too much. They are both an absolute credit to the company

Come in this morning for a breakfast and the greeting was as dry as the sausages and bacon, it looks like they had over estimated how much food they needed but it all started when we walked in and the lady on the front was abrupt and didn't seem like she wanted to be there, no sense of humour and yes I know it's busy at this time of the year but there are things you do in this industry. The walls and radiators could do with being cleaned and a lick of paint wouldn't go a missThere was no mushrooms, no breakfast gravy. This is usually our favourite Toby Carvery but it seems to be going downhill very fast

All staff were super efficient, everyone knew their job, fast service even though mega busy on Sunday. Abigail our waitress was great. Yes I will be returning.

Very happy with our server Aaron so friendly and helpful, food very good in the main with the only issue being the lack of lamb early in the evening at 5pm despite it being advertised so a little disappointing really ?We did ask the chef if we could come back for the lamb when it was cooked but he said only if we pay extra??Also out of rice pudding ?

We had the festive menu it was very nice but my only suggestion would be that the plates should be hot they usually are but not yesterday. I would also like the good to be warmer but not sure if it’s possible as whatever Toby I go to it’s always the same!

Great value, lovely ambiance and friendly service. Carvery food excellent and regularly replenished - but disappointing that house wine was not available on last two visits. Also no prices for gins on menu,Parking: Adequate parking

Booked the function room as there was 16 of us… they phoned 2 days before asking how I want the room set up, we agreed horseshoe and close together. was set up as a square and massive so we were practically shouting at each other and once mentioned to this lady she left and never came back.I asked about music etc, on the phone and received info that the tvs played music. They were both off and we couldn’t use them. Was quite terrible if honest. Food was ok, potatoes were like rocks.

Stella our waitress was outstanding. She appeared to be doing most of the work whilst others stood around and chatted. Dirty plates and cups were piled up on sides. Pretty pointless clearing a table and leaving these items on a service station, rather than leave them take them outside! Cleanliness in the ladies toilets was disgusting. Toilet brushes need throwing as covered in poo and tissue. Not great to see when visiting somewhere for dinner. If public areas aren’t clean it leaves you wondering what back of house is like.Food was constantly refreshed and hot when served but due to the cleanliness we won’t be returning. Yorkshire puddings we’re full of oil and tasted like the oil cooked in hadn’t been changed in a while.

Couldn't ask for a better dining experience. Food is spectacular, as expected, and the servers are simply amazing! Special shout-out to Arron for his speedy, kind and friendly service and for being an all-round legend. Can't wait to go back :)

Amazing Toby Carvery!!! Only reason for 4 stars for food is meat was pretty dry and the mashed potato and some of the vegetables weren’t very hot, so lukewarm by time I got to my table and my favourite veg, parsnips, were surprisingly not amongst the vegetables but on the whole it was fantastic!!! The lovely waitress who served me really went out of her way and is so friendly and warm and the young chef who served me the carvery is equally as lovely, friendly and really welcoming, they both made my time there really special, thank you both!!!
