What a proper little gem. A picturesque little cottage with welcoming and polite staff and beautiful home cooked food. A great selection of food and drinks and an outdoor bar.

We have eaten in here before lockdown and had the most wonderful food and encountered very couteous friendly staff. Today my elderly mother was taking myself and sister out for lunch and when we walked in we encountered a very sour rude lady who really didn’t appear to want our business because we were 2mins early for our midday booking, so unwelcoming we left immediately and went where our business was appreciated. Whilst I understand we were booked for 12noon and walked in at 11.58 which is 2mins before opening time, there was no need to be so rude and dismissive, very disappointed and will not be returning!! Customer service goes a long way!

Nice little village pub, very friendly bar lady who was helpful and polite, you can sit inside or they have benches out the front and also an area out the back you can sit in.Food was nice and portion sizes were great even the small plate lunch was a good size, perfect lunchtime size , definitely go back! ??

Friday lunch with some friends - lovely setting, friendly barmaid, pleasant decor but oh dear ... food was dire. £18 for a 'grass-fed' 8 oz rib eye steak. 'Steel wool-fed' might have been a better description. It was so tough we really struggled to cut through the meat. Fries were ok but veg cooked to death. Might just have a pint and bag of crisps next time.

Lovely welcome, helpful staff & efficient service. Food portions are generous; the sausages based on a local Braughing recipe are absolutely devious ?
