We had a wonderful homemade Sunday roast lunch. I had pork loin and my husband had the beef, turkey and pork loin. Generous portions. Lovely Yorkshire puds. We sat undercover outside with heaters, enjoying watching the swans and narrowboats go by. The staff are delightful even tho they were busy. And they're dog friendly. We'd definitely return if in the area.

Delicious food and excellent service from a very friendly and welcoming team. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. We went on a Friday night, and the place was very busy - I don't know if it may be a bit quieter earlier in the week, but next time I'll be sure to book in advance as tables were a bit scarce, which is testament to how good the place is.

Lovely venue. Beautiful in the sunmer. Comfortable, lots of seating. BEST BURGER IN WARE! (.. and we recently ate at Gordon Ramseys Burger Restaurant in Harrods, and their burgers don't compare to how good they are here)

Fish and chip meal was ok but a bit pricey. Nice atmosphere. Service at the bar was good but the food server delivered my meal and then left me without any mention of cutlery. After waiting a few minutes i asked another server to help me get a knife and fork. The first server was very poor i thought.

came for afternoon tea today very disappointed our annual xmas afternoon tea . 7 adults and 3 little girls under 5 sandwiches tasteless cakes tasteless we ordered 6 classic and 1 tipsy they begrudged giving a cup of tea to the lady who ordered the tipsy very rude sarcastic waitress with zero people skills . when we went to pay she tried to charge us 10 pounds extra for the tipsy afternoon tea andthe little girls were being charged full price each instead of what they agreed on in the email they sent us that they could have 2 for the girls to share on trying to pay the waitress told us they do not do sharing you have to buy 3 . very rude incompetent should definitely not be serving customers . we was going to book for a family birthday in january but you have missed out we will be giving our money and custom to a business that looks after there customers.

Not my usual haunt in Ware, but decided to pop in for lunch. I had the sausage and mash which was simply scrumptious. Well done to the chef.

Myself and my friends booked a table on a Sunday and we when arrived, found out they had no roasts and no pies to order. It would’ve been nice to have been called and informed this beforehand as there was no apology or explanation given for this. The service was very poor which is a shame as previously I have enjoyed my evenings there. Our friends starters and mains were brought out together whilst myself and my husband had our starters and mains separate, which made our experience awkward as half of our time we were sat watching once another eat, waiting for our food. Again there was no explanation given for this and no apology. The table wasn’t cleared until the very end of the evening and we also had a baby with us so it was very chaotic with all of our drinks that were finished, piling up.Before booking, we saw on their website that they have a promotion, if you book on a Sunday in November, then you can have £1 meals for children and a complimentary desert with every main meal. We were initially told this would not be the case? But as my husband showed evidence of this to a staff member (of their website) we did receive the complimentary deserts but sadly they weren’t very nice. It was a big shame as we intended to meet up for a roast dinner but the service and food quality, not to mention the bad timing of the dishes being brought out together, made the evening a shambles. Would not recommend unfortunately.

Great night on Friday 1st December,Dickension night in ware.Town was packed, the pub was packed but had a great Atmosphere .4 or 5 deep at the bar but all got served in quick time. One tall man dressed in black (Andy I think) exceptional, serving 3 or 4 customers at a time clearing up and being friendly and professional all the time. Well done!.Would use the pub more if prices were a bit lower.

Imagine it is an uncharacteristically sunny Saturday afternoon in October and you have just had a great lunch at the local Thai while catching up with old friends. You decide to have a couple of drinks at one of the local pubs and pick the Waterside Inn as it has a lovely beer garden on the river. You order a cheese and mushroom bruschetta and a Chocolate Crème Brûlée Fondue for £12.50 from the app. The bruschetta arrives 15 minutes later and it's actually just a piece of toast, with no crust, some cheese and one mushroom. Gutted, you wait for your pudding. You wait an hour. You have chased the staff 3 times and they don't know where the pudding is. When it finally arrives, it's a sort of Crème Brûlée with 3 small brownie chunks. Amazing, worth the wait. You ignore the terrible service and continue on your day anyway. You're in a moderately warm nook by a speaker which is fairly loud so you are probably compensating. Then the manager, Miss Trunchbull, comes over to you very abruptly (without a smile or even a hello) and says: "I can hear you from my flat upstairs. If you don't quieten down you will be kicked out." Excuse me, but what just happened Miss Trunchball? Why are you sending me to the Chokey? Utterly disgusting customer service. Imagine, if she had actually had any form of training in customer service before she took over a pub, then she might approach you with a smile and have a quiet word with you about the noise. She might ask you to keep it down, move away from the speaker etc. She might even apologise, for rinsing your wallet of reasonable ££ after an hour long wait for food not even worthy of Wetherspoons. Then again she might just want to run a fairly decent establishment into the ground so she can give up and someone else can take over instead. One can hope. 7 years ago, two managers ago, this was a lovely pub and it didn't even need a 300k refurbishment to make you want to go back. For info, there is a lovely riverside pub opposite where the staff know what they are doing and the food arrives on time.

Always a great place for a drink. Great selection of drinks and ales for the CAMRA guys. Emma's service was excellent. She's a lovely, friendly young lady and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Went out to grab some lunch and catch up with a friend. Didn't book and can't fault the friendliness and accommodation of the serving staff. Although extremely busy a table was found for us. Only down side was ordering our food at the bar. There was a male member of staff, for whatever reason wouldn't serve us, even though the girls had indicated that we were waiting. Haven't got the hang of ordering food and drinks through QR codes...but maybe that's the way to order your food and drinks here.Lovely Sunday roast...lots of potatoes... wouldn't have minded some more veg.Vegetarian options: Not much choice for vegetarians or vegans.

Great place for drinks and in idyllic settings. Food is generally good, but have had some not so great roasts . Possibly a change in the kitchen or just an off day. But it's still a great pub . Would

Criminal to charge £14.50-£16 for an appalling roast. Unlimited roast potatoes is a nice offer but when they seem like they’ve been sitting under a lamp for the past 4 hours I don’t want to finish the ones on my plate let alone more. Poor poor food for premium

Popped in for dinner as a group of 5,shouted at from the car park that we had to walk around to the front of the building ( wasn't true, walked out through the garden) had to move furniture ourselves to make up a bigger table, plus ordering on the app was rubbish. kids enjoyed their burgers, my lamb shank was good but the mash had a leathery skin to it...wife's food was the same. Football was on which was okay, we knew it would be..some creepy locals looking at my 13 year old daughter, not the time for trouble though! It's okay, probably won't go back.
