The worst eatery in Watford. What can I say: poor service, we had to wait a full 20 minutes before we were even seen to. After 15 minutes I wanted to leave but was held back by my wife. The menu was sparse and served only Halal food!We would give this 'restaurant' a wide berth, and so should you.

Smash shack is based in Watford Market and they serve smash burgers, loaded fries and shakes.We tried the following:? double smash burger with CHEETOS!!!!!!!!!? bacon loaded fries? oreo milkshakeThe service here is lovely and there’s a heated area to sit in if you want to have your food in the market! The smash burger was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! One of the best I’ve ever tried. I love how Cheetos were part of the burger it honestly added such a unique twist to it. The milkshake was also the perfect consistency and I loved the fact that you could really taste the Oreo. Fries were really nice and fresh and the toppings were really hearty. The portions are huge here so you will leave super full!Definitely check this place out if you’re in or around Watford!

So I'm giving this 1 star and I debated for a long time about whether I would review this place at all. I don't understand why it's rated so well with others. I think part of it is the owner is not the one making the burgers. Anyway here's the breakdown.First of all, when I ordered at the premises, I was met with a powerful body odour from the server. It was overwhelming.I ordered a simple burger with minimal ingredients and simple ensemble for maximum flavour.The beef stank and it was dry and dark, it looked as though the beef was fried then left aside on a cool part of the plate and then heated up. Secobdly the plate was not being cleaned. The beef patty was hard and the taste of it just tasted like it was reheated and stank of tallow.The way the sauces were distributed onto the burger were a circle from a squeeze bottle around the edges of the bun. So there wasn't an even spread across the bun.The sauces are probably the standard I would expect from a place like this but I'd say the toppings are average or below.It really seemed like the people preparing the food never ate burgers before and probably never worked in this kind of food preparation.I don't take any pleasure in leaving this review. But I would very much warn people away from this place considering I ended up throwing mine in the bin.The buns are also the same brand you get from Sainsbury's, so take from that what you will.Burgers are sacred and I've probably only found 3 good burger experiences in London. So when I saw people giving this 5 stars, I was surprised. But it seems to h y came from early days when the place opened. I had it once before a long time ago and remembered it wasn't great back then either.Perhaps the owner or whoever started it should go back and quality check the food. It was inedible in my opinion.My apologies, but far better burger places exist that are closing down because people don't know any better.

Myself and colleagues have been ordering from smash shack since their opening. We've thoroughly enjoyed their food and would have happily called it our new favourite take out...However... Over the past 3 months it appears standards have slipped in primarily the food itself and service.The portion sizes are smaller, the burger fillings are much smaller, they have swapped normal bacon for turkey bacon without any notification on their website and affiliated delivery websites (Deliveroo etc).There have been frequent cases of paid for fillings being missed from the burgers, fries/waffles not arriving with the orders.I wouldn't degrade a company by giving them a 1* review as up until recently Smash Shack have been great. It would be a real shame to see this company nose dive from poor standards.If things improve, we may consider ordering in the future however, you have lost well over 30 customers from our custom alone. Such a shame to see a place with potential start to drop the ball like this.

Absolutely incredible! From the sauce to the bun, I loved every bite of my triple 9oz burger and can’t wait to come back to try more! The beef patties were packed full of flavour, the pickles and lettuce were fresh and crispy and the cheese? Both the cheddar and the halloumi were delicious.I unreservedly recommend.
