Had a booking for Sunday lunch and upon arrival we were informed there were only 2 choices left from the menu (one of them being turkey, which is what everyone wants in early January). It is what it is, so we ordered what was remaining from the menu and the food arrived quickly after. The problem from here was the portion size. They were clearing rationing what they had left and I received two small half slices of meat, token vegetables and 3/4 potatoes (Yorkshire's were excellent as a side). I was waiting to politely enquire about the portion size with the staff but no one bothered to ask how it was or cleared our table before we left. The pub was further running out of other items as we were eating as I could hear them speaking to other customers. This is a place I've frequented quite a bit when they had a carvery option and I was really disappointed with the experience I had today. I won't be back. We weren't even acknowledged upon leaving.

Hannah and the team really are a lovely bunch! Super friendly and welcoming. This is a traditional pub with all the trimmings! Love this location so much! They looked after us very well at Christmas Day and every time we’ve popped in after a local walk in the past. Highly recommend! Picture a U.K. pub, and this is it! Xx

What can I say, family of 10 for boxing day , excellent service, well organised, customer service outstanding, food was hot and good flavour, given it was boxing Day, the staff were happy well organised, communication was excellent during service, overall well done I hope management appreciate the staff,. Previously I have worked in service industry, and understand the effort and logistics that goes into making this event happen. Good job

Well they’ve run out of mulled wine (was informed they’d sold 25 bottles in the last few days???) but really enjoyed the Boot Warmer???

Visited last week to eat. There were a few options on the menu that were unavailable, but each time the member of staff checked and was apologetic. Katherine was her name and she was extremely polite and accommodating. Lovely pub and a great member of staff

A lovely, friendly pub with great food. The staff were very efficient & the selection of mains and sweets was first class. If someone wants to know how to run a pub, this is how you do it!One minor criticism: The roast pork Sunday roast doesn’t come with any crackling. Surely that’s an essential part of a roast pork meal?Otherwise, top marks to the servers & chefs. Will definitely visit again.

I booked for Sunday lunch this week, not having visited for a number of years. The last time we did visit it was a carvery and whilst I was a little surprised this was no longer there it didn't affect our overall enjoyment of the occasion. The food was excellent, and the cauliflower cheese was to die for! We also all had puddings which were good value and a good portion size. However it was the service that stood out the most. Attentive but not over-bearing. Friendly but not superficial. This was everyone we came into contact with and makes such a refreshing change - I know for sure it won't be too long before we're back again!

One of the most enjoyable Sunday roasts we have had locally in a long while, really enjoyed it. Great quick service as well, thank you.

I attended this pub on Sunday with my family, I just want to say we had the best roast we have had in a long time while eating out, everything was cooked to perfection, gravy was the best consistency and it was a great size! We will definitely be back! thank you so much for the great service by Hannah also! X

What a lovely, welcoming pub. We have just got back from having my daughter's pre 30th birthday friends/family meal. Lovely meal, and Atmosphere was just right, we was able to chat. We would definitely be back.

As always my friends and I enjoyed a really tasty Sunday lunch. We’ve had many Sunday lunches out but find nowhere else is as good as the Long and Short Arm Lemsford. Service was really good and staff very friendly and efficient. Kathryn in particular was very attentive.

As always a special Sunday lunch in a quaint old traditional pub, served with the greatest of food, the friendliest of staff in an atmosphere filled with old fashion values. Hannah and her team are an experience for the best time, thank you.
