Pubs • “Real 'beer', real pub, super friendly. Those that know, know. (Walked in and felt like it was my own local- cask ales, pickled eggs, and some!) When visiting, do look at the vast arrays of beer mats, not one repeated. A must visit place in Newport for a good ale.”
Pubs • “A traditional pub family friendly run by Duncan & Kate. Serving a good range of beers, ciders and spirits. The day we visited they had a live band who were brilliant. This pub has a lovely outside garden next to the River Medina. They also provide home cooked food, their pizzas are fabulous.”

“The Blacksmiths is a great restaurant for family or even a romantic meal. The menu has sufficient range to accommodate most tastes including a kids menu.The food was just perfect! Highly recommend the fish platter, special (if still available) and their pie!Portion size is spot on - had baked camembert for starter, fish platter special for main and was too full for pudding!!Price wise - not cheep but not extortionate.Dog wise - very welcome with blanket beds and treats.Kids wise - play park outside.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, colouring crayons and a play park.Parking: Free gravel parking with two spaces for blue badge holders. Additional parking on lower level.”
