Had a great experience recently. ? It was incredibly quiet when we first arrived, creating such a peaceful atmosphere. I really appreciated that sense of calm from the start, it was perfect for a relaxing time and being able to have conversation. The service was consistently attentive, especially when it came to drinks. ?The staff were always ready to refill our glasses, and it made a big difference. The whole team seemed dedicated to ensuring everyone was well taken care of. It was a really good vibe overall, very welcoming and accommodating. I'm already looking forward to going back sometime soon. I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a place to come and have lots of cocktails!
The food was okay, but the cocktails is what we came for.

Snacks and Ladders Board Game Café & Eatery

Really pleasantly surprised. I dropped in with my partner and daughter with low expectations (because it's a novelty-cafe) but was greeted with TOP-LEVEL customer service, decent home made food, and a genuinely lovely atmosphere.

Da Vinci Restaurant

You don’t have to be Italian to serve great cuisine from that country. That was the case at Da Vinci Restaurant and Bar in Newport, Isle of Wight.

Oksana, our waitress, from Mariupol, Ukraine, and her partner and chef Ruslan, from Moldova, provided the best Italian meal I have had in ages.

I had a Fresh Penne Pollo with chicken cooked to perfection with garlic, fresh chilli, and too many ingredients to mention. It was so good I did not have room for dessert.

But then I did. A strawberry cheesecake and a drop of limoncello for luck. Not only did it finish off a superb evening, but the presentation was such, that it felt like a work of art that should not be devoured.

I had travelled up from London for my Easter break, and having eaten in Rome, Italy, this Italian cuisine was on a much higher par.

The atmosphere was lovely, the wine complemented the food perfectly, and the bill with a 10 per cent service charge on top was worth every penny.

If you are going to the Isle of Wight, you have to put this restaurant on the top of your list. Five star service from start to finish.

Angel Bar And Grill

We had been recommended trying the new Ryde steakhouse by a friend who knew it had moved from Carisbrook. We were looking for a new venue following the closure of the Alamo.

We were very impressed with both the food and the service.

The food was well cooked and the service was prompt. the portions were larger than we expected so we left full and very pleased with what we had chosen.

The host was very happy to talk about his plans and his decision to take on the new restaurant.

As is it in Castle Street it is not immediately obvious that it is a restaurant unless you happen to walk past it as there are no other restaurants around it, but I would recommend seeking it out and giving it a try.

PC's Cafe, bar and Grill

The lemon drizzle cake tasted amazing and the view was absolutely stunning! I enjoyed my time at this cafe however i had to wait over fifteen minutes for a slice of cake and lemonade! The waitress was apologetic and understanding though.

I took a self-care day to a whole new level today thanks to this wonderfully friendly team! Popped in for a treat and…the galaxy millionaires shortbread - OMG! Standing ovation!

Town Choice Café

fantastic cafe , great atmosphere , very helpful , friendly staff :) Foods amazing and coffee are great , Amazing takeaway bacon sandwiches and coffee . Highly recommend to anyone!! :)

Hogshead, Newport

Visited Hogs Head for a lovely Easter lunch on 5th April 2026, and it turned out to be a great experience. I was there with my family, and we all had a really enjoyable time.

They run daily offers on food and drinks, and on Sundays there’s a 2-for-1 deal on desserts—which we couldn’t resist! We tried the Billionaire’s Chocolate Fudge Cake with ice cream/custard and the Honeycomb Cheesecake, and both were absolutely delicious.

The pub has a lively sports bar atmosphere, with football matches playing on the screens, along with two pool tables and a dartboard, which adds to the fun and energetic vibe.

Overall, we had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Newport!

Novo

Have had several roast dinners delivered from Novo and nothing but praise. Food arrived hot, potatoes still crispy and really good sized portions. Prices competitive and lovely friendly staff. I really hope for a small business, they continue to do well, they deserve it!

GG's Bar & Restaurant

We had the most beautiful wedding reception at GGs. Michael and the team done a fantastic job. Every request was met, nothing seemed to much trouble. The venue was clean and tidy. The outside areas were set up exactly how I had asked as was the inside. We had welcome drinks, canapés which were delicious then a 3 course sit down meal, we also had a bbq buffet in the evening which was also fantastic. I wish we could go back and do it all again. Not one complaint. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so perfect.

Went in for lunch and the dining room was clean and tidy, received my food quickly and was hot and tasty, the burger was succulent and juicy, will definitely come back

Loy's Chinese Takeaway

30 years since used last as I moved abroad.
STILL just as good as it was . Really friendly lady on the phone as im disabled now and had to get delivered. Delivery driver was just as helpful as reception.
OK. Little more expensive than was used to but with it of you can't visit shop.
Very tasty. If you visit rather than order in I'm pretty sure it's tge cheapest on tge isle of Wight.. thanks to all staff

Excellent pub ( homely too)visited sunday for roast lunch )We arrived as was closing kitchen owner went all out & beyoud to help & we was served .wow roast was very delicious cooked & served very posh Thank you so much .for fantastic meal winner

Family freindly pub aswell as group seating allso beer garden plenty tables too we paid 14 ppund per person for roast well worth every penny ( choice of 3 meats ) defo recommend

The Stag

Great pub in a good location. Cheap drinks, tasty fresh food. Chance and Harley are amazing, so attentive and will serve you with a smile and a laugh. Couldn't recommend a better pub on the Isle of Wight.

Myself and my wife and our two children eat Sunday dinner here 29th March, great food, great service, easy parking nearby, we had the meat feast, excellent value

The Blacksmiths

Went for a family meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. Beautiful views, lovely food and a play area for my children. It was very busy, but the staff were very efficient - special thanks to our server George. We enjoyed the T-Bone steak and the Korean BBQ brisket very much!

Kusina RestoBar

Visited Kusina RestoBar using a voucher we won in a raffle. We had a very pleasant evening, the venue is Bijou and comfortable with a pleasant ambience. The food was excellent, service was friendly and courteous, prices were very reasonable. We will definitively be visiting again.

Newport Ale House

Stumbled across this bar by accident whilst looking for another one I had been told about on my one and only night in Newport.......and I'm very happy that I did so !
I spent the evening having a very entertaining and interesting conversation with the landlord and a local customer whilst sampling the fine beers they had on offer. It was a very enjoyable experience :-)

Scarrots Lane Bakery

Love a fresh item from the bakery. Sausage rolls are good so is the steak and kidney. Donuts are lovely. Everything is freshly made every day. The staff are friendly they even have a little van that goes out to various sites on the island.
Give them a try when in Newport down the little lane next.to Mcdonalds.

Prince Of Wales

The friendliest pub on the island I would have to say. I’ve visited multiple pubs, and no one makes you feel more welcome than Steve and Sally, and the locals. It’s a cosy pub with a homely feel. Very friendly locals and the owners are lovely. We had a 40th Birthday Party for my Husband today, and they done an amazing Job at decorating, music, buffet and service. By far the best on the island. Top people??

Chia Wing

Another fantastic dinner from chia wing.
Takeaway containers rammed to the top, the oyster sauce is amazing as are prawn crackers, can't wait to work through your wonderful menu.
Someone here knows what they're doing. Tried other local places, however this is the best as I'm a fussy beggar.

The Cask and Crispin

I haven't rated the food because I've never eaten in there, I'm not sure if they even do it. However, they do a lovely pint, nice and cold, and served with a smile. They have a beer garden, so you can sit in the sun and enjoy a good pint. I'm told that they have really good bands in there on a Saturday night. So, all in all, well worth a visit
