Those girls

Came in and bought a t-Shirt (£15) . I asked for it to be baggy. The man who was serving me said “a small will be fine”. A small fits me like any other t-shirt that isn’t baggy. Please check the definition of the word ‘baggy’.

Called in to try one of their “tasting paddles”. Really excellent and enthusiastically supported by knowledgeable staff. Went on to have lunch which was very good and then had cocktails before catching the bus back to St Helen’s. A great lunchtime/afternoon out. We sat outside in the sunshine late September. Excellent !

We visited this week as a group of four. The staff were really welcoming on arrival, they even greeted our dog with a treat and a bowl of water. We ordered 1x cocktail, a pint of lager, a cider and a coffee. The prices were reasonable. The log burner was on and they were playing Christmas music which created a lovely festive atmosphere. We purchased a bottle of their delicious salt vodka to take away with us. Highly recommend Mermaid.

So disappointing. Asked if there was a special board and the guy by the bar sat there and said its over there by the front door. Only 2 items on it. He couldn't even bother to get up or tell me. Nit alot of choice on.menu so went for a chicken burger in a brioche roll. It came out and was a defrosted cheap burger bun. ? not impressed!

As I stepped into the Mermaid Bar ? I was greeted with friendly energetic bar staff who were warm and welcoming, as we were perusing the food menu we were offered samples of the fine gins on offer. Once we decided what to eat the food came promptly and was absolutely devine- The head chef "Paul" as I remember came out to ask if our meal was satisfactory- lovely touch! I would recommend this place to anyone on or visiting the Isle of Wight. Astounding sevice and food - Five Stars- well done!

What a lovely place. We only had drinks but a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth searching out.

We popped in for a coffee and to look at gin distillery with our dog and had the warmest welcome. We ended up having lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere so much, we returned a couple of days later. Staff were so friendly and made a wonderful fuss of our dog ?

Visited this bar to purchase gin from the distillery shop. Unfortunately I obviously didn’t meet the bar’s demographic criteria and was ignored by the bar staff in favour of other customers. When I asked if anyone could assist me with a purchase I was abruptly told ‘there’s no one that can help you’ The younger barman then offered to help, the older male then made a short snippy comment about how he’d make the cocktails then… I should have left empty handed and now regret buying the bottle of Gin….customer service should extend to all paying customers.

Food was delicious, as we're the cocktails.
