Just a bog standard Premier Inn. Room was decent, in my limited interaction with staff they were friendly.I think the cooked breakfast is very expensive for what is on offer, even though you can have as much as you want. The first morning we had breakfast we were waiting for things to be cooked. The quality of the breakfast is pretty much what you'd expect. Bulk cooked full English type garb.Rooms: Room 144 was in a decent state of repair and clean. It was also very far away from reception. It had another room on one side and a fire escape on the other so it was very quiet.Food & drinks: Food and drinks mediocre. They say on the website the hotel has a restaurant called the 'Thyme Bar & Grill'. You'd only have dinner here if you really couldn't be bothered to walk to the pub across the road. There's only about 4 things on the menu...none of which are grilled.

Check in on arrival using the touch screen was tedious and time consuming. We upgraded to a Premium room and it was excellent. Large, modern decor, huge bed. Would have preferred a walk in shower, rather than a shower over the bath. The shower was strong and lots of hot water.Breakfast was a disaster. It closes at 11 and we got there at 10.15. Zero pastries, only 1 strawberry yoghurt, 3 totally over ripe bananas and a couple of tangerines. Pathetic. They really need to up their game on the Continental breakfast. Apparently the chef decided not to put out more food!Date was Sun 8 OctoberTotally unacceptable and made it far too easy for us to go pay for breakfast somewhere far more welcoming than the Premier Inn. We will use Prem Inn again, we just won’t plan on eating with you.Food & drinks: Shame the breakfast wasn’t to the standard of the room Definitely needs a breakfast upgrade.

Lovely little hotel with fantastic staff. Only disappointment was the lack of options on their menu but they did state their menu is only phase 1. That should change in the near future. Breakfast still fantastic as usual. I will go back.

First time staying here merrie gardens premier inn in sandown, perfect location if you have own transport and use for a base,we had a week there and all the staff are brilliant and they will do anything to help make your stay enjoyable, the breakfast is a buffet which you can try anything, the room was brilliant and bed very comfortable. Perhaps 2 chairs per room would be useful. As being both of senior age we found it difficult to get in and out of the bath /shower.other than that we have enjoyed our stay and will be using the hotel again for our next trip to isle of wight Thank-you very much.

Stayed for 4 nights in a Premier Plus room, overall I don’t think they are worth the extra money for this hotel, the only benefit was having the fridge. Room was clean & overlooked the KFC but we had no noise from this. We had one armchair in the room with a foot stool, it would have been nice to have 2 armchairs or a sofa as one person always had to sit on the bed. The fridge was great as we could buy milk instead of the little single milk cartons. Would have been nice to have the bin in the room emptied, as you have to request a room clean if you want the room cleaned. Breakfast was good, but you do have to book a time slot of when you would want to eat, which we’ve never had to do before & when you are in holiday you don’t want to commit yourself to a time. Large free car park Would recommend this premier inn as a perfect base for exploring Isle of Wight

We were delighted to return to Merrie Gardens and especially receive a wonderful welcoming from Dan Peach who was very helpful and efficient. Everything was in order and organised and comfortable and we enjoyed great breakfasts every morning.

The Premier Inn breakfast was fantastic! They no longer have super comfy beds and you have to request cleaning/servicing of the room. The hotel is on a bus route which is great for exploring the island. It's also quiet during the evening

The hotel staff were friendly, polite and professional. The hotel, although clean, was not spotless. The stairs needed to be vacuumed. The bin in the room was rusty and the curtain was not properly fitted. The room was generally clean but not spotless. The extractor fan didn't work and although a member of staff attempted to repair it, it didn't work. The windows do not open which is not healthy. The shower was not very good. Breakfast was good and plenty of options whether you wanted continental or cooked breakfast. Plenty of free parking but not enough disabled parking. All in all, it is fairly good but when compared with other Premier Inns, it is not up to standard.

A neat & clean hotel for a good nights sleep. Restauran excellent for breakfast but limited choice in the evening. Good parking available. Good service if one required anything e.g spare towels, extra coffe, milk etc for in room drinks. Used as a base for exploration.

I have always championed Premier Inn, particularly the accessibility. The staff were young and helpful as far as they could be. Our room was an accessible double with a wet room on the first floor. The carpet was stained and sticky. Chocolate, or similar, was ground into the carpet in several places. The wet room was disgusting; the seat of the shower was stained; the residue of others' showers caked the drainage holes of the seat, I used a hand towel to sit on whilst showering. The badly aligned drain cover showed the 'dirt' of ages. The flush on the toilet only worked intermittently, then it wouldn't stop flushing. We asked for the room to be made up for our next night, assuming it would be cleaned, but, no, the towels were changed and the beds made. Everything else appeared to have been untouched, The furniture was scuffed and worn, apart from a stylish chair which, although beautiful, was dangerous as it tipped forward alarmingly when sat on. The only area available to meet and wait in was the breakfast room ... at about 3 pm on arrival, the tables were still crumb-covered and sticky and the 'buffet bar' was covered with bits of bread/pastry, this was a poor showing. We moved to the tables in the car park where the seats had slats missing and more dangerously the scews sticking up had not been removed. At breakfast the first morning, the tables had been perfunctorily wiped but the edges of the tables were still encrusted with the detritus of sticky fingers, one could scrap it off with a knife. The Isle of Wight was great. This Premier Inn was inadequate and filthy ... it was not cared for and nobody seemed to care.

This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel. It has its own nice large carpark. The quiet location is well served with a very nice pub/restaurant with outside tables. Also a KFC, nearby bus stops and two supermarkets. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast room is spacious and clean. Excellent variety of food and drinks at breakfast. There is no restaurant on the premises.

Staff are friendly and the hotel is clean and tidy. Breakfast is nice with a good selection. The WiFi is absolutely terrible, we paid for the ultimate version but half the time it's impossible to sign in as the system is broken. The free version is the same, and I tried multiple devices. It connects very occasionally, but 90% of the time it's totally unusable. This is obviously very frustrating, especially when mobile coverage isn't great. From searching online this seems to be a common problem. Not really any excuse for this in 2023!

This had one be one of the best premier inns we have stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few. It’s very clean, quite, staff are very friendly, chef at breakfast is very accommodating, made us a couple of fried eggs and brioche, s as they had finished cooking, as we were later down. Only downside was the restaurant at dinner has only just started up so there was only a couple of pizza, s, a pasta dish & a curry on the menu. Plus free car park

I had a premier inn plus room Lovely comfy beds Good breakfast The chocolate was a nice touch And the coffee machine But because of a premier inn plus room The ultimate WiFi was not good Easy check In using the machine in reception area I liked the desk so I could chill on the seat And nice shower very powerful Nice wash products The staff are so nice and friendly and kind :) :)

Beautiful location, with surrounding shops around The staffs were very good and welcoming The Wi-Fi signal was the only fault for me, but my family enjoyed their stay after all it was a family holiday second year visit in a row so it can’t be that bad My 3 year old son with autism thoroughly enjoyed himself After last year holiday my son asked me to take there again which we did We will be going back there again next year Gods willing
