“An unassuming frontage, appearing to be just a seaside cafe, but the home cooked specials are exceptional! Excellent value for money, plenty of choice, friendly staff. Will definitely make it a regular haunt!”

“Had planned to take my mum to the Old Thatch Teashop but when we arrived it was packed. I asked about sitting in the garden but they offered us a table in the already crowded indoors so we decided to leave.
I'm so glad we did, this tearoom was lovely, we sat in the peaceful pretty garden while eating a delicious cream tea. The staff were lovely and the lady who took my order was very helpful, showing me how large the scones were and agreeing that one between us was okay to order.
Would definitely recommend visiting here.”

“Meg, Sarah, and all the others at Cinders are so welcoming - they create a lovely, comfortable atmosphere to have a quick coffee or a scummy lunch and cake in Shanklin. It is also *the* perfect place for mums and parents to meet up with little ones with all the adorable toys in the back room to keep them busy whilst you scoff what you can when they're not looking. I love Cinders!!!!!”

“Beautifully cooked starters, mains and desert. Very rare to get excellent food for all three courses. Catch of the day was stunning. On the Island for 3 nights. If this restaurant had opened on Sunday and Monday evening we would have returned. Prices so reasonable for the quality of food served. Impeccable friendly service.”

“Perfect Fish and Chips! Lovely flaky white cod in crispy batter and big chunky golden chips, both freshly cooked to order. Generous portion. I'm really glad I decided to come here not somewhere on the sea front.”

“?????
Tumblers Café – Shanklin
A proper no-nonsense greasy spoon and now a firm tradition for our family visits to the island. Right by the train station, cash-only, and full of charm.
The tea here, for some reason, tastes better than anywhere else — a real comfort in ways I can’t quite explain.
Hearty portions, great prices, and an old-school vibe. Not fancy — just exactly what you want from a breakfast café. We'll keep coming back. ?☕?”
