We always visit The Paramount when in the Isle of Wight. The food is second to none. Perfectly cooked, lots of fresh vegetables, good home cooking but with a chefs touch! Give it a try, you won't regret it!Vegetarian options: My husband is vegetarian, his favourite is egg, chips and beans but that is by no means the only option!Dietary restrictions: I have been dieting (seriously dieting!) and Jon's quite happy to serve up any dish and make changes. I regularly ask for just meat/fish and vegetables (no potatoes/chips) He has new and jacket potatoes on the menu too.Kid-friendliness: There are often families dining when we visit.

Probably the best priced breakfast in Shanklin. In the heart of town so booking is recommended. Friendly service

Great choices on the menu. All cooked fresh to order.Very reasonable prices and generous portion sizes. We always pre book before getting on holiday and will be doing so again next year ready for our holiday.

Website clearly says open times but when you get there a big sign on the door says closed certain days. School holidays and not open. What a joke. Family of 7 disappointed Update your website

EDIT: inaccurate claim that baguette was fresh. And one doest need to order well-done bacon to be NOT SERVED UNDERCOOKED/PARTIALLY UNCOOKED BACON. or a soggy hash brown. If the owner doesn't understand difference between BLT sandwitch and sausage & egg baguette, that says it all. Neither are they aware of quality and prices of other places around.Original review:The big boys breakfast was substandard and "never order again" experience. Undercooked bacon, soggy hash brown. The baguette was not fresh. A bit of salad would have made a big difference.Having eaten at several places around, would recommend Don Santos for breakfast.

Very dissaapointed tonight Sat 1st July. Supposed to be a special birthday meal. Asked for homemade Steak Pie, was told sold out, so how come somebody came in after us got1. Very clearly you look after your regulars and not the holiday makers. Isn’t our money as good as anyone else’s.? Staff not very pleasant either. This experience ruined my birthday. Will not be visiting again, and will not recommend it.

The Paramount is a basic but excellent cafe with an extensive menu and daily specials, all food freshly cooked to order. At present evening opening hours are limited, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 5 to 8 pm. Breakfast and Lunch opening hours are also Thursdays to Saturdays 8am to 2pm. Thoroughly recommended.

My wife & I visited the Paramount Cafe after we stopped having breakfast at our nearby hotel which was so poor.My wife had a veggie breakfast & I had a breakfast baguette, both superb & great value for money.Friendly welcoming staff made our visit even nicer.Highly recommended & well worth a visit.

Because of TrevorI made an effort to visit this cafe because of the owners response to the Cold Cottage Pie review on Tripadvisor. I liked the fact that the owners stood up for themselves.I am glad that I made the effort to eat here. We were seated in under a minute of at one of the only 2 empty tables that were available. After our order was taken our drinks were served followed by our breakfast in around 5 minutes, All perfectly cooked and hot, apart from the orange juice which was ice cold.Shanklin is an area that has many places to eat, many of which are over priced. This is not and I found it great value for money. I think that cafe that is being used by both visitors and locals speaks a volume about how good it is.During our visit a woman let her dog take a **** on the doorstep of the cafe. This was dealt with quickly and professionally by the staff, with no help from the dog owner. This is a great cafe that is clean and well run.
