Very cute and cosy cafe/ restaurant with amazing views of the sea. Simple lunchtime menu. Lovely welcoming staff. Would love to visit in the evening as the sun sets. Will be back the next time we’re on the island.

Absolutely gorgeous and welcoming home from home. It really is a little hideaway; we're upset we only discovered it on our last day otherwise we'd have been there every day, I'm sure! Lovely food, just brilliant service and can't do enough for your dog! Highly recommended! With special thanks from Loki.

Lovely place tucked away above the coast. Cosy interior and probably lovely outside in the summer but too cold for us. Very welcoming staff and even has a special menu for dogs! Would definitely go back.

We saw the sign and thought that this would be a great spot to watch the water and headland, while drinking a drink - it was certainly that, but also so much more! A fabulous place, the smells from the food being served were wonderful plus everyone (staff and guests) was relaxed and friendly, service exemplary. Blankets are provided to enable guests to sit outside even as the chilly evenings start. We are already planning a return visit to the Isle of Wight, just so that we can visit The Hideaway for longer and enjoy their food. Dodie was so helpful with absolutely everything. It's a very short walk along the (very safe!) cliff path, from roadside parking. Cheers Dodie and the rest of the team... Annie and Michael, Gosport

We were a large group of adults and dogs. The location is fabulous, the views beautiful, the setting quirky, the service is great and with a friendly smile. Food and drinks excellent. Would highly recommend.

Superb food and atmosphere. The owner Sharon makes you so welcome and you feel like you are old friends. You can tell there are regulars eating there. Food is tasty and fresh. Lovely place with superb views. Well worth a visit.

Lovely intimate little place. Seating inside and outside. Space is limited so you MUST book to avoid disappointment. DOG FRIENDLY. Dogs will be in dining room .I would of given 5 stars, but had bad salad experience! Even though i mentioned the salad had gone bad on my starter i got bad salad again with my main! The garlic bread with my pasta was not enjoyable either. My partner loved his squid and steak. I loved my halloumi and lasagna. Nice place to get a drink. Highly recommend the raspberry and pomegranate gin .I parked for free in a nearby street.Vegetarian options: Some good vegetarian options.Parking: We parked for free in a nearby street. Spaces seem few and far between.

Fantastic location, great service, amazing food. It wasn't our first visit and certainly won't be our last!

Fabulous down home food (I had a very tasty minted lamb pie with asparagus, and chips, then a light lemon roulade) plus views across the sea and friendly service. Quirky décor. What's not to like?

Once you have found this place you are set up for a great time. (Park in St Boniface Cliff Rd and walk - it's the only way!) Don't be fooled by the menu on line - the food here is unusual and absolutely great. Try the garlic mushrooms. The staff are lovely and service is great. I highly recommend this place but you really do need to book.

Beautiful setting overlooking the bay with a lovely rustic setting. Food is home cooked, fresh, hot and the cod delicious. Good children’s menu too. Staff are friendly and welcoming and so Im struggling with reading 1/2 star reviews!! Thank you for a lovely lunch just before you had a wedding reception..

The location and views are superb, perched on the cliff top, access by walking along cliff top path or park just behind. Rustic and family run, inside and outside seating. Varied menu, fresh home cooked food , served by friendly attentive staff. The best place we found during our week on the Island , started and ended with a family meal. Just perfect.

Considering there are signposts directing you to this place on the coastal path & it is recommended in the welcome booklet of local accommodation, they don’t seem to like customers very much! We walked in and were ignored so found a table of our own, waited a few minutes before a server came & just asked “what can I get you?” no hello, welcome nothing. I ordered a pimms which was disgusting- no fruit in it at all, how they can charge £7.50 is beyond me. My sandwich was horrible, made on the cheapest white bread & the cucumber was a strange colour, the coleslaw it came with was warm- not just not cold but like it had been in the mircowave and the salad was limp & slimy. The absolute worst bit about it all is that they charged £9.50 for a cheese & ham panini!! Total rip off and could have made better myself at home.

Relaxed restaurant on the cliffs at Shanklin, with stunning views out to sea. The restaurant is a lovely shack with a great atmosphere. Good range of vegan options - I loved the sausages with new potatoes. The vegan cheesecake was also really good! Could not fault it
