Bland, no atmosphere, hot food on cold plates, women behind the bar unhelpful and not very welcoming or friendly. My desert of a rhubarb crumble tasted of pork. Much nicer places around.

Pleased to be able to be seated on Mother's Day but that was all. The meal was not good....carrots and cauliflower so hard I was unable to get a fork into them, broccoli overcooked and soggy, venison pie consisted of a great deal of pastry and hardly any meat and all served on a plate which wasn't hot enough. What a disappointment. Obviously chose the wrong meal as the other reviews are so good.

It's our 2nd time having the roast dinner here, and it didn't disappoint. It is by far the BEST roast dinner on the island. You get extra Potatoes Yorkies and gravy if wanted too. The staff are lovely and there isn't a long wait for food. Excellent food, Excellent place, Excellent staff. 110% Recommended.

I had a lovely experience at the griffin!! Got served by simon he was a lovely!! Greeted us at the door. Gave my dog a treat, the food was super yummy and it was overall a lovely experience will definitely be back very soon! Thankyou simon

This is a gem of a pub that is dog friendlySoon as we walked in we was greeted by George who is a sweetheartThen to the bar with a very impressive selection and delightful bar staffWe then sat down and realised how reasonable the price wasOrdered food and then was truly impressed the food was of very high quality ?We then ordered dessert ? and this truly was the highlight of the mealStaff was very entertaining but professional and had a really good sens of humourAltogether a fantastic experienceWe will definitely be visiting againDietary restrictions: Was asked if we had any allergies or special requirementsParking: Parking front and a good size car park at the sideWheelchair accessibility: Easy to access no steps

We went for early Sunday dinner and although the staff were lovely, the dinner could have better. The parsnip was so hard ,I couldn't eat it. It was quite expensive, not to be perfect.

Have been here a few times now and it never disappoints! Tried their Sunday roast for the first time today and I can’t recommend enough ? the food was absolutely delicious, very generous portions and fast and friendly service despite how busy they were! Clean plates all round and will definitely be back again!

Quiet Thursday night, but lovely food and was more than happy to deal with a range of dietary requirements.Dietary restrictions: Manager was more than happy to change a standard dish to meet dietary needs and still have it presented well.

Just had meal there 20 plus of us late lunch all made to feel welcome order taken professionally food arrived in a good time all piping hot and great quality and all together. Staff brilliant rebooked for next Saturday night well done ✅

Good food, good service, pleasant staff. The new owners are very obliging and helpful. They are aware of the problems with their phone system and are making attempts to change. At present the easiest way to make reservations is on the website. Will visit again.
