Esplanade, VentnorGreat fancy restaurant! Price worth the food. Unsure if it’s Michelin stared but if not they are on their way!!!Dietary restrictions: Needed halal food and they catered to make sure no alcohol was present in our seafood.

30 Pier St, VentnorSpent a lovely evening with a friend in this small but stylish venue.Its a jewel in Ventnor's Pier St, you're Surrounded by beautiful Art, the service was lovely from the Cheerful Jane who looked after us so well and the Food cooked by Andy was just sublime.I had a generous portion of cod with a blissful creamy crab sauce as well as a generous quenelle of crab served with fries and a side salad it was so very very good Congratulations to both Andy & jane I look forward to returning soon

The Hambrough Restaurant and Bar with Rooms
Hambrough Rd, VentnorHad a lovely stay at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious and staff very knowledgeable about the food and wine. The view from the room was amazing and we spent hours watching the sea from the windows. Highly recommend.

Toni's Tea Room
1 Metropole, Esplanade, VentnorNow this is a tea room! I love a good cream tea and so do my family! It is always a struggle to find somewhere you can get a 'good' cup of tea and even harder to find it accompanied by good cake and food. Tonis is in a fantastic spot and although it has a limited number of seats, if you need to wait at busier times it is definitely worth it! We have a dog and it can be a struggle to find a place that is dog friendly. Upon entering you feel right at ease and are greeted by the friendliest of staff and also Toni's little dogs! If you are on the Isle of Wight and want a great tea room with an amazing aspect and view and even more importantly great food and drinks this is a must! Great value too!

The Esplanade, VentnorWhat a find! A real Aladdin’s cave of WWII memorabilia - great pot of tea (with tea cosy) served in a china cup and saucer, amazing cakes (try the choc and beetroot), wonderful, friendly atmosphere, dog friendly and connect 4 ! - definitely visit when you’re in Ventnor (and a trip to the loo is a must!)

Drunken Lobster
2 Pier St, VentnorAbsolutely fantastic place to chill and have a super relaxed but delicious meal. Staff really fabulous and the mixologist both really great at advice and explanation of the cocktails but can also make them seriously well with the right balance - try the raspberry margherita or skip dessert and have the salted caramel espresso martini! Food is stunning and even with a mix of diets we could choose plenty of veggie and meat dishes. As mentioned by others the lamb is incredible. You can tell chefs enjoy working there when you have a quick chat and they're so smiley and happy + great place and great evening out!

Central Hotel, 64 High St, VentnorRecommended by a friend to try daily soup, there were a few choices. The friendly staff offered that we could have a cup of each, spicey parsnip, and cauliflower with garlic.They were very tasty and included brown bread and butter.Great cause makes it even better.

Grove Rd, VentnorAwesome pub, very friendly and excellent pub food at reasonable price. I always measure eating places by say 'would I come back?' and it's a definite yes. One guy serving behind the bar and taking orders - he was so efficient and friendly. We'll be back soon.

The Royal Hotel
Belgrave Rd, VentnorEverything about this hotel is of the best quality. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The babysitting service was a brilliant addition for our 3 daughters. The grounds are well kept, the foyer is stunning. The food is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Made a lot of wonderful memories here.Rooms: Our room was spacious and had a huge bed. There was a room off ours for our daughters and a stunning bathroom. We looked out onto the front of the hotel which has beautiful views.

The roast dinner was the best we have ever had out and we will be back next time we visit the Island. Thanks so much for a lovely ending to our weekend visit!

Bonchurch Inn
Bonchurch Shute, VentnorFollowing a few disappointing meals around the island i was beginning to think my expectations were just too high until I found the Bonchurch Inn. Wow, what an experience!!! The Inn is nestled in a leafy quiet area between Ventnor and Bonchurch, down a cobbled lane. It was like stepping back in time. The staff were so friendly. The food was sensational. I had the fillet steak, thick, tender, juicy. Well seasoned and probably the best steak I've had EVER!!!!!. This came with an impressive Mediterranean salad which was packed with olives, sundried tomatoes, rocket leaves, peppers, tomatoes and of course chunky chips which were homemade. The Bonchurch Inn is going to be my place to go from now on.

The Crab Shed
Little Tamarisk, Genevra, VentnorLovely little business, very tasty food & friendly staff. Hard to find the delightful quirky setting that is Steep Hill Cove but it was worth being rerouted correctly by Waze after our outdated sat nav took us to a dead end ?. Parked in a private carpark with an honesty box, walked up a lane, past the cricket pitch & down a steep wobbly path down to the beach. We planned to find The Crab Shed on a day at the island and were lucky they hadn’t run out, as it was late on a sunny Sunday afternoon before the August bank holiday. Got to sample the mackerel ciabatta & a crab pastie from their daily specials board. Very tasty snacks in what felt like a secret Cove, thankfully untouched by predictable modern franchises. I’m amazed by some prior reviewers saying “they shouldn’t run out” or “they should accommodate more”. This & other local business along this Cove clearly make the most of what space & supply allows.

High St, Godshill, VentnorIt's our 2nd time having the roast dinner here, and it didn't disappoint. It is by far the BEST roast dinner on the island. You get extra Potatoes Yorkies and gravy if wanted too. The staff are lovely and there isn't a long wait for food. Excellent food, Excellent place, Excellent staff. 110% Recommended.

Church Pl, Chale, VentnorCame with the family for a drink and a snack. Lovely location and service good. But a little disappointed I only wanted a ham and tomato sandwich and the lady behind the counter said I will ask the chef. They did ham and mustard but because I wanted something off the menu there was an extra charge. All the other food came out but mind was nothing like I expected. Ham and cheese with a quarter of tomato and some salad. I did tell the young lady who offered to take it back. Iam not that fussy but said I would eat it ; but couldn’t be bothered to send it back. Paid extra and didn’t get what I asked for.

23 Church St, VentnorWe have eaten here many times and the food has always been excellent. The gentleman who owns and runs the restaurant is a character and we get on very well with him. He's always attentive and friendly and service is good and not rushed. Will continue to visit every time we are on the island.

Golden Sands (Fish & Chip Takeaway/Ice Cream Parlour)
Esplanade, VentnorThis was a great find when looking for something to eat after a day sightseeing. A good range on the menu at reasonable prices. The selection of ice creams alone was huge including ice cream that is dog friendly. Wonderful for our furry companion.We ordered from the front window served by 2 very lovely assistants. They were both very helpful, chatty with smiles for everyone who came by while we were there.The wait was about 15 minutes, but went quickly as we crossed the road to the beach side. We had ordered battered sausage and chips, which were freshly cooked. A huge portion of chips the box didn't close. We also had a portion of tomato sauce, each in a disposable pot that we tried to balance walking away.I can honestly say it was the best battered sausage I've ever eaten. The chips were done to just how I enjoy them...so good we made another visit at the end of our holiday, the experience was exactly the same.

Red Chilli
27 High St, VentnorWhile on holiday on IoW, we rather fancied a curry one night so looked up local Indian restaurants for takeaway. We found the Red Chilli and had a delicious meal. Great flavours for the various curry dishes we had and very good naan bread also. Even my young daughter who enjoys spicy food, but is not (yet) a fan of Indian food really loved the vegetable curry accompanying our byriani and tucked into the other dishes we had also.
