What a lovely little cafe/bar, right on the sea front, dog friendly, with lovely home made cakes, great friendly owner and it’s licensed, what more could you want

What a little gem of a place! The food was great and arrived promptly (cheese and ham panini) the staff were friendly and happy to oblige. I loved the decor and music, you could sit there for ages just looking at everything. We will be back soon.

What a fantastic little cafe this is ?Just a fabulous atmosphere with memorabilia all around ?Slightly disconcerting with Dame Vera Lynn in the military khazi, but she wasn't too bothered ?Great crab pasty, and all the cakes looked very tasty ?Thanks for keeping open on a somewhat blustery autumn day ?

A wonderful experience taking our family (including young daughter) to the tea room.Welcoming atmosphere, fantastic staff and quirky theme. Food, drinks and ice cream were brilliant.Thoroughly recommended. We will absolutely visit again before our holiday is over.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Our daughter (5) loved looking around and the staff really made the extra effort with her.

We visit this gem of a tearoom whenever we visit the Isle of Wight. The owner and staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble. The gluten free scones are the best I gave ever eaten. The tearoom is done out like a museum th the 40s .Well worth a visit. We love it, best cafe on the Island

The afternoon tea at Lady Scarlett’s tearoom is nothing short of fabulous! With beautifully cut sandwiches stuffed with tasty fillings, melt in the mouth scones with lashings of home made jam and lovely cream, as well as gorgeous home made cakes, this team room is a must-go-to on the Isle of Wight. Thanks to Tony for feeding us so well and to Maeve and the team for excellent customer service - we loved our experience with you!

We stopped here for a drink and we're just taken back by the amazing vibe, décor and full on WW2 theme. We spotted a crab pasty on the menus so order it to share. We hadn't had crab before and I have to say, it was good in size, piping hot, flavourful and had a sweetness to it that just hit the craving spot. We were lucky enough to turn up when they had live music, again in tune with the WW2 theme. Will most definitely be back to sample more.of the menus and soak up the vibe. Staff were amazing, friendly and seemed like all they wanted to do was make our afternoon.

A wonderful place to have afternoon tea. My family and I had a wonderful experience with the 1940’s theme. I cannot rate the experience enough. A good time had by all.

This is a wonderful little treasure on the sea front at Vetnor. I'd always wanted to go, being a love of everything vintage and knowing it has a 1940s theme. Everytime I have been to Ventnor we have not been able to go in as its been full . I'd pre booked a table for myself , husband and two young boys . We where also able to bring out cockerpoo with us. Toby was so accomadating from the start . I had booked us in for a high afternoon tea. Inside the tea room was like walking back in time . So much to see ! The afternoon tea was just perfect ! and Tony was just wonderful ! and worked around my boys with alternatives to cake . I absolutely loved it ! And so did my husband and boys . It was great that we brought the pup too . The staff where lovely ! Can not recommend enough!! A lovely hidden treasure and I would definitely go there again !!

Amazing little tea parlour with the most wonderful views. This place is a delight and I really enjoyed my experience from start to finish. Not only was the welcome friendly and personal but also made me feel comfortable and like I’d been there 10 times over. I would thoroughly recommend this place, and next time I am after a treat I’ll be popping back! Thank you!

Fantastic cafe with a lovely atmosphere. Really good food and friendly service, highly recommend. We have lunch, and all our meals were delicious. Their home made lemondade was wonderful too. ?

WARNING £13.50 FOR A CRAB SANDWICH!All other food offers are clearly displayed and fairly priced for the captive audience. No price on display for the crab ones though. Almost double the price of anything and everything else they do. I get that crab is hard to get, difficult to keep and demands a higher price, but be up front rather than stinging people at the till.Had other crab sandwiches around the island during our stay that were around £10 a pop and just as good, some with more generous portions and side salad.

We had been hunting around for a alternative location for a superb cream tea after reading that Chessel Pottery has gone very much downhill and no longer makes the cream teas it was famous for. Lady Scarlett’s has an incredible record of top scores, which we’re now extremely suspicious of. We phoned ahead to check for availability and although the person on the phone wasn’t rude, they made us feel we’d possibly made a bad choice with their attitude on the phone. You can’t judge a book by its cover, but when we arrived at the place, we wondered if it was really the right place. Sadly it was. Not very inviting and seemed a bit too rough around the edges, despite the ‘World War period’ theme. When we entered, a grumpy man (possibly the owner) was there observing people coming in, although very few people were coming in (a big sign of bad things). When we mentioned issues parking, he told us that there’s lots of parking in Newport. This location is nowhere near that, so we assume we were being told to go elsewhere if we didn’t like it! Lovely! The place was empty whilst others were full, so there’s a hint! We left without ordering anything. An unpleasant experience.

A brilliant place for a delicious cream tea. Warmed scone, cream, jam and fresh strawberries served alongside a pot of tea.
