Our children have recently really started to like mussels after we let them try them on a previous lunch. We asked a local person where was the best place and we were recommended to come here. After a walk and thinking we were lost we got here. The service is really friendly and welcoming. Ordered drinks and 4 portions of mussels for lunch. Without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. The mussels were so fresh, the sauce delicious and the bread was warm and tasty. A really good place to visit

A wonderful small café in a sheltered spot with lovely sea views. Excellent home made cakes and food. The strawberry + clotted cream Victoria sponge is a winner. Friendly staff.

This place is a gem. Beautiful location, great staff/vibe, good quality food with generous portions that cater for vegans as well as carnivores and all in-between.

Lovely little place hidden away. My partner really enjoyed the muscles and they smelt amazing. The vegan platter i had was really good, but a little too oily (especially the salad) and pricey. All in all a lovely little intimate place. Probably not as enjoyable in the cold/bad weather.Vegetarian options: A few veggie options and vegan.Parking: Free car park at the top of cliff, but spaces are limited.

Absolutely fabulous spot! It's literally the best little secret in Ventnor. Amazing cakes, milkshakes and superb beers for the adults!? Beautiful scenery, and the owner Kerry was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Could not recommend more.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly with our children who always take forever to make any decisions! Fabulous milkshakes and crabbing off the rocks. They didnt want to leave.

Had a very enjoyeable lunch at this charming and unpretentious seaside café. The Fisherman's board was delicious! A bit difficult to find because of works on the promenade but would go again without hesitation. A little gem!

You can book a table with or without shelter. Menu is limited but they do a great job considering they have so few facilities.

Nice food but terrible service. I hope it’s not racist. My son saw a ‘young adult’ at the order counter and was about to place order, then the young man just went away. My son stood there for more than five minutes and no one turned up. It ended up I had to ask another lady when we could place order. We asked for an umbrella and was said to check the availability. It turned out that after at least 20 minutes I got to restate my request and the lady finally fetched me a broken umbrella which could not be fixed in the stand. It was made leaned against the wall. Finger crossed, the umbrella did not drop because it was only sunny but not windy. We asked for a jug of water. They did serve us one but then later on I noticed that other customers got a jug of water with two slices of lemon, but ours got nothing inside. I even observed them greeting other customers, asking how their day was, acting very politely using words like ‘please’, ‘lovely’ and ‘thank you’. And we received a very opposite attitude of service. Local British are warmly welcomed. If you are not, I sincerely hope that my experience will prepare you for the worst. Lucky that we enjoyed a real beach in Ryde later that evening.

Superb food, atmosphere, setting, staff are so helpful and freindly. Sitting in the little beach hut overlooking the sea with brilliant food and service, what's not to love. A real gem, so glad we found it, can't wait to go again.

An excellent place for a civilised lunch close by the sea. We had the fisherman's board and the Mediterranean platter, the first with a beautiful selection of crab, prawns, home-made smoked salmon pate, salad and two types of fresh bread and the second with a delicious selection of salamis, prosciutto, cheese, sundried tomatoes, salad, olives, hummus and warm pitta bread, each accompanied by a glass of well chilled Italian rose. The food came promptly and the staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming, even bringing biscuits for the dog. As there was a breeze, we sat in the shelter of one of the cabins overlooking the sea. It was the perfect summer lunch, a little taste of the Mediterranean in Ventnor.

The staff were lovely and incredibly flexible about our annoying food allergies. You'll rarely find somewhere that is willing to alter a platter to meet your needs like at The Seapot, rather than just taking stuff away and charging you the same price. On the platter, it was absolutely delicious and incredibly good value. It was also a real treat to drink cider from just up the road in such idyllic surroundings. You must make The Seapot part of your walk from Ventnor to Bonchurch, it is very special. Despite the Ventnor end of the path currently being repaired, it is very straightforward to access it via the stairs which run directly behind this restaurant.

What a view and what lovely people Kerry, James and the staff are. Great coffee and bread Pudding to dies for. Ventnor Council, hurry up and mend the coastal path so that this Gem will thrive.

I booked one of their lovely beach huts for lunch for four of us. We were on a day out around the Island. Two of us shared a Seafood Platter, one had Cheese Baguette and the other a Ham Sandwich. All were excellent. The only downside was the time they took to arrive.
