Twee nachten verbleven. Fijne kamer, tv met hdmi kabel. Toilet en douche werkten prima maar wel iets verouderd en hier en daar wat schimmelvorming, ze waren ook lastig te luchten zonder raam/afzuiging.Eten was prima en lekker!

We recently had a wake for my mum. I found a sympathetic ear from Lynn when i called to enquire. She went through everything & we were able to add or change things. The actual wake was as good as can be. In that the area wS just as we needed. The food was lovely & the staff were very helpful. Many thanks, would definitely recommend

Lovely Sunday roast dinner.

Had an amazing Sunday roast with extended family for a birthday meal. Requested a vegetarian roast option when we arrived and they were able to provide a delicious “not nut roast” to go with the full roast for our 1 veggie. Huge portions of food and lots of choices for puddings. It was a busy afternoon with no many staff on but nothing was too much trouble, friendly and helpful. Would definitely come again thank you

We stayed at The Lower Bell as it was the closest hotel to Edenwood Place where we were attending a wedding. The pub is nicely presented with friendly staff. We had a couple of drinks outside before checking into our room. Unfortunately there weren’t many positives on the accommodation front. Our room wasn’t very clean; a few bugs on the carpet and hairs in the shower, which we didn’t use as a result. I had to ask for hand soap at the bar only to be told that “people normally just use the shower gel”. However, a bottle of hand soap was then brought to our room shortly afterwards. We barely slept due to the dual carriageway that runs over the top of the pub. We also had a note in our room when we returned from the wedding to say we’d have to pay at 8.30am the following morning as this had been forgotten when we checked in. Fortunately we were very much ready to leave by that point. I’d say you get what you pay for, but it wasn’t even worth what we paid, which wasn’t a lot.

Good well kept beer, friendly and professional staff, lovely traditional pub setting with outdoor areas, great food - recommend booking your Sunday roast in advance. In fact, I'd book your table and prebook your choice of roast!

I travel often for work and as it tends to come out of my bottom line I have to find somewhere thats got everything I need whilst also being extremely affordable. Fortunately for me, The Lower Bell was both.In most situations the bare minimum is a clean room and a bed and that is exactly what I got. Being a solo traveller I dont need a massive room so plumped for the single room (as it turned out Room No 1).Not only did I get exactly what I needed, but also was pleasantly surprised to discover a heated towel rail and a pretty decent tele. That heated rail was worth its weight in gold as I had just ridden my motorbike through a storm to get there! Also I turned up a tad later then planned and the kitchen had closed. However the brilliant team behind the bar (Kate and Lynn) where terribly kind enough to offer me the pizza menu and sorted me something out. Before I knew it, I was sinking a couple of pints while talking with some pretty friendly locals. My only regret was that I couldnt go and chat to them more on the second night I was staying as I had prearranged to meet someone.Suffice to say that if I am back in this neck of the woods I will be popping my head in again to say hi!

Came along to try the new rotisserie menu and wasn’t disappointed - the ribs were delicious. This is a real hidden gem with direct links off bluebell hill. Dog friendly and family friendly. Good food and drink. Lovely in the summer too as have sat outside during a dog walk before. Highly recommend

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch with the family! Huge portions, fantastic food and reasonable price. Best Sunday lunch around with fab yorkshires. Totally recommend, why pay for overpriced local restaurants when you can get home cooked roast here!

Lovely clean room with comfortable bed ideal for a quick stay over with an onward journey. Unfortunately so much road noise and the restaurant only serves pizza in the week so a bit disappointing and breakfast isnt available.
