The restaurant has improved considerably since we visited a few years ago. Excellent food and friendly smiley staff. Nice and relaxed service, not rushed.

I've eaten here a few times when visiting my sister. It's a great setting with views out to sea. I think I've been lucky with the food as I've not been disappointed with what I've ordered. However, the service is slow. It's nice to have a catch-up while you're waiting, but sometimes the wait has been far too long. The staff are helpful and attentive, there just needs to be more of them when it's busy.

Went here for Christmas lunch last year and was fantastic so booked again. Good food and atmosphere but service was awful..

Excellent service, food was delicious. Nice to go somewhere that offers a great menu that lives up to expectations.

My brother and I had a long overdue get together what better to eat than fish & chips by the sea. Wrong, never again, it was presented nicely the service was incredibly slow, restaurant only about 7 tables occupied. The haddock & chips smelt & tasted very strange we weren’t asked if everything was good. The fish was supposed to be haddock but it didn’t taste like haddock. I did notice other diners had pushed their unfinished fish & chips to the side. So I don’t think I was the only one to think it was awful. Such a shame I will never go again.

Started with the gin smoked salmon which was very good, then had a beef roast. All tasted very fresh, decent yorkshire puddings too. Lovely surroundings - great view.

Visited here a few times over the past few months after moving to the area, previously it has not been anything special but in my opinion it has vastly improved and we enjoyed a really great lunch here yesterday it was quieter than we had previously experienced for a Saturday but that’s probably down to the bad weather but the food was outstanding and (with the exception of the bar staff) all staff were polite and friendly. It also has free parking which is an added bonus.

Had a very limited vegetarian selection on the menu we were given, the staff were pleasant and the food ordered was delivered quickly and good quality.

Cant wait to go back! The staff are lovely, the food was good, the venue is beautiful. Great place to visit any time but when the suns out and you sit on the terrace upstairs you feel like you are on holiday without getting on a plane ??went again last Friday and had the breakfast, all good!???

It's an amazing place to chill out after cyckling on the Viking trail. Great food and the most stunning view! The bonus is an indoor soft play area for kids if the weather spoils the mood!

I, along with my parents, Had the pleasure today of dining at the Minnis, it was last minute and we were welcomed to come and ask for Dee when we arrived. Every member of staff we're outstanding. All polite, funny and polished. The food was outstanding. Attention to detail and care was outstanding. And I must say, to have my table wiped own between courses is very seldom seen, but gratefully received. I fully recommend this wonderful little gem. I will be visiting again very soonTHANK YOU X

No beer even though the pump clip said they had it ! and the beer that was on was not drinkable ?the food was over priced and not very well cooked in that it was greasy

Very slow service. Very limited menu. Poor value for money. We ordered bread and olives for the table. We received a small bowl of olives, three slices of sourdough bread (for 4 diners?) and some flavoured butter - no plates or butter knives. The menu had recently changed and was more limited than the summer menu. The only vegetarian main dish was unavailable, as it had apparently not been prepped. The chicken and leek pie had been heavily flavoured with a herb (tarragon?) which was not mentioned on the menu, and which gave it a very strong liquorice/aniseed flavour. The pie itself was very big, and generously filled, but very much more leek than chicken, and the chicken appeared to be thigh rather than breast meat. The haddock and chips was generous, but the skin had been left on the fish. The single dessert ordered (rice pudding) had an excessive amount of topping which overpowered the flavour of the rice. Service took so long that we were at our table for well over two hours.

I had the burger and I wasted most of it because the bun fell apart while trying to eat it, the portion size was ok (definitely not £16 worth), myself and my hubby had chips that was so hard that we couldn't eat them .the waitress was the most pleasant part of our first and only trip to this restaurant.

Just popped in for a coffee before having a walk. I think that's the longest I've ever waited for a coffee 25 minutes, no exaggeration, and wasn't busy. However, there was only one staff member making coffee and she had to take orders at the till at the same time. I think some support for her was needed.
