“There was few staff if only 1 and we had a wait to be shown to a table. After which the gentleman waiter was very good even though he was hopping from table to table. He did forget to get a 2nd drink we asked for, but that was ok, not his fault they should have more staff. We actually only seen him.
Food was as expected for the type of pub. Well presented and tasted ok. We had a voucher which actually made the meal the price we were happy to pay. Overall I would recommend the Canterbury Bell, just keep a look for voucher deals.”

“Cooking fish well is not a given, as we have found out at Cote and Kebbells recently, but it was a pleasure to have some perfectly executed Whole Bream and Whole Lemon Sole at this very pleasant restaurant above the pub bar.
Service was immaculate and friendly and the bill less than expected for the quality.
Probably the best meal we've had on our trip to Broadstairs”

“Just visited The Pickled Herring for the first time and had a Sunday roast….what a little gem!!! Food was amazing and reasonably priced for the portion size and quality of the food. The lady serving us (I think she was the owner) was very helpful and accommodating as we had 2 dogs, there was even a bowl of water and bowl of dog treats waiting for them which was an amazing touch?
We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. Thank you for a lovely meal ?”

“Went to Harper's on Friday 15th August 2025 to listen to a band called BLOW.
Great venue, hardworking staff, huge selection of beers, spirits and cocktails at very reasonable prices.
The age range of customers was fantastic; from 20s to 70s, and everyone happy, friendly and dancing like no-one was watching.
An absolutely fantastic night and would recommend this bar to anyone wanting to enjoy good company and great music at an affordable price.”

“Popped in for a drink on a very hot day while visiting Kingsgate Bay. Great outdoor seating overlooking the bay! We didn't order food but what I did see go out, looked lovely. The man in the bar was very friendly. Beer good too. Oh.. and dogs allowed on terrace but not inside.”

“Elliot served me. Absolute legend! All other staff on shift were lovely! Had the loaded fries with Cajun chicken and the chicken burger was absolutely lovely and the portions are massive! Fed me and my girlfriend for about £20. What a bargain and great people and atmosphere! Would definitely come again and recommend!”

Highly recommend if your visiting broadstairs! Customer service was terrific too and didn't have to wait long for our food and was still hot when we ate near the beach!

“The Chapel: St. Mary’s Pub
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taps- I trialed several libations and each one was deliciously unique (there are at least 20+ tapped! Plus cocktails!)
Staff- Absolutely wonderful chaps (Liam and Jed) ran the bar today who was knowledgable about the bar and buildings.
Oldest building in Broadstairs established in 1070, this lovely pub has a charm worth seeing with your own eyes! Not only is it steeped in history, but it didn’t end with being the church, it continued to be a part of history with the Vikings, Napoleon, and immigrants fleeing wars. From the many lives past, the walls are aesthetically lined by books for purchase!
At night, enjoy the candle lighting ambience as if you frequented this establishment many years ago.”

“Delicious burgers and amazing chips, always highly consistent too. Staff are always super friendly. Milkshakes are delicious but VERY filling so go easy on them. You can get a beer from the pub next door to have with your burger too.
Definitely more of a takeaway than an eat-in place, the shop can be very cold in winter. But just wear a jacket, it’s worth it for the burgers any day!”
