A bit of a wait to get in, testament of the quality of food here. The coffee is amazing the breakfast grill ups are some of the best, although not a fan of the beans but everything else is simply amazing. Service is top notch, will have to come for lunch one day. Thoroughly recommended if your willing to wait 20 mins or so to get a table.

The 15 minute wait for a table was well worth it! Food, service and atmosphere excellent. Will definitely come again.

This is a popular and high end restaurant usually with queues to get in - so get there first! ? The food is worth it.

Great find in Canterbury. Lovely brunch with fresh ingredients. Great coffee as well. Nice friendly staff members, and very brunch vibez.

A staple of the Canterbury breakfast scene, The Refectory kitchen offers a slice of decadence to start your day. The menu varies from stacks of succulent pancakes to light and fluffy scrambled eggs. I visited early on a Saturday morning and was lucky to get a table, something that shows clearly the popularity that the cafe commands. A "juice of the day " provides a thirst-quenching palette cleanser, and emphasises the extent of the options available. Service was slightly delayed, but not absurd considering the chock-a-block atmosphere we found ourselves in. Would recommend to adults and children alike, a truly exciting and tasteful kitchen for breakfast.

Busy at lunchtime but only a few minutes to wait. Friendly staff, tasty menu. I had good eggs Benedict, my friend had avocado, salmon poached egg which was better. Will return to try other options. Very short espresso too which gave me afternoon buzz.
Cannot ask for any better meal here! The queue is around 25 minutes but when I got there the service was fast!Friendly staff, good taste of music to chill inside. Food was so great as well and not that expensive. I got salmon and poached egg meal, it was good. Will definitely come back!

Great breakfast and brunch spot in the heart of Caterbury. The food is delicious! We had the pancakes and eggs benedict and were very pleased. The place has a homey/retro atmosphere with an indoor fireplace to keep the restaurant warm in the winter. This made the dining experience very cozy and inviting. They are reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The place gets quite busy so be prepared for a queue.

Been to refectory for their eggs royale a few times and it’s always good quality food. However, today’s review is more to do with service. Coming to enjoy a brunch and catch up with my mother on lunch break, we arrived at 12:15. By 12:35… no exaggeration, we were being ushered out of our seats having not asked for the bill and prompted twice to pay. Thinking perhaps this was in my head, I continued to finish my coffee and water, then was actually asked to leave at 12:45pm as people were waiting outside for a table.Spent over £30 dining and given 30 minutes to eat and pay. Not acceptable.
Very nice food and friendly
