Wow what amazing burgers and fries. Travelled most of the world and never tasted burger and fries as good as these and the price is very reasonable. It is generally a takeaway, but t we are in. The staff are great too. A truly amazing experience, ?

I found this place as recommended by our tour guide. Given the short visit, I'd not researched anywhere else. That said, the place is good for what it does. It's a restaurant in a small tourist old town on the main drag. It seemed quite popular and réservations are recommended. I had the pepper steak and fries. One of the best meals I had in the ?? (I know, doesn't say much, but, still). The service was hurried and brief, but solid and friendly. The atmosphere seemed jovial and a mix of uk folks and foreigners (in American). Over all it was a solid meal with good service. I'd recommend it.Parking: This is on the main tourist drag, so, parking is far off.Kid-friendliness: Sure, you can bring kidsWheelchair accessibility: This building is not wheelchair friendly unless you're eating outside and even then, you won't be able to access the toilets

El Sol Tapas Bar & Restaurant

Came in for dinner for two without booking beforehand. We loved it !All the dishes we got were amazing, taste-wise, as well as presentation, and for a very reasonable price.Service was great and very fast.I strongly recommend this place for a dinner to share.

The Foundry Brew Pub

Really great place for beer tasting in Canterbury, would definitely recommend. The food, however, is was not that great- we had the chicken wings and they were very average. The sweet potato fries were good. Also would recommend booking a table first as we could not find a place!

The Monument

I have never eaten here as a bit expensive and the portions look small. But great atmosphere and friendly service. We like it on a Sunday afternoon with the piano man.

Lady Luck

Small pub, very busy as it seem popular but there is more table seats inside at the back. Looking about 10 ish tables in total.Food menu looks decent with vegan options.Positive note they have lilley's

We randomly choose this Resturant as we wanted to have halal Turkish food. We delighted to visit this place. Food was excellent belive me kabab were amazing. Staff were friendly. If I will visit Canterbury again, that is now must go place.

Il Posticino

This is a really nice place to eat, the restaurant is upstairs, we were there quite late so it was fairly empty, but I imagine the atmosphere is buzzing when its full. We had a lovely meal, stating with a sharing platter of meats and cheese, which was perfect, then for mains we had the Venison and a pasta dish , both were cooked beautifully and plenty for us. We were looked after very well and have no complaints whatsoever. if we are ever in Canterbury again, we will be going back. I selected II Posticino based on the Tripadvisor reviews, there were a couple of bad ones, but to be honest I don't know what they were on about, I guess you are never going to please everyone!

German Doner Kebab

Come to GDK a lot, the food is always superb and can never say anything bad about service.There is always background music so it’s not dead quiet and is just a good vibe in general, would highly recommend.

Marlowe's Restaurant

We stumbled across this place walking through Canterbury and WOW! what a treat.The steak was to die for.Attentive service and a great atmosphere. We’ll certainly be coming back.Edit: I forgot to take the photo before I ate so that’s the empty plate

White Hart Inn

Dropping my daughter off at university after the holidays and wanted to treat her to a nice lunch before we went. And what a treat it was, we all had Sunday roasts and they were delicious and very good value. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the staff were friendly. Already planning when we'll be able to return.

Lazix

First visit to this establishment. On a Wednesday morning it was peacefully quiet. The coffee was divine - not like Costa/Nero/Starbucks, etc. Food was not sampled, but the cakes did look gorgeous! (who needs cakes just after Christmas?!!)

The Punch Tavern

Great carvery staff friendly competitively priced large car park onsite. Family friendly. Nice to pop in for lunch. Have a varied menu if you would prefer something other than the carvery which it’s famous for.

Pinocchio's Restaurant

This the very first time I can leave such a review. Born and bred in Italy, travelled around the world for 15+ years and... Pinocchio's was the first place to make me enjoy Italian cuisine outside homeland. Italian take few things seriously, but be sure food is not only among those but reigning over all! I approached the restaurant with my skeptical toffee nosed attitude and, guess what: I pleased my buds more and better than many places back home. I had the swordfish and the fried squids, felt like eating it right off the boat for how fresh they were. Ruta and Salvatore beautifully guided my tour through the wine chart and the menu Giulia, the chef, prepares every day with religious care and devotion to the Italian standards. Be sure to try their fresh fish and home made pasta, you ( and your buds) will be amazed. Freshly baked pizza den bread were supreme. Damiano and his team have gained the rare prize of not only spreading the Italian taste and culture but also serve food that has few rivals even back home.

Good location in the heart of Canterbury. Burger was with mid-quality meat and chips, served o.k. You cant compare with their photos on the web. However, local really good ale and atmosphere both saved us after a long hike from Ashford to Canterbury. Thanks.

Longport Cafe

Best local business serving all day breakfast. It is much cheaper than some of the food chains and the quality of meat is awesome. Our family regular breakfast getaway place.

The Veg Box Cafe

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Can thoroughly recommend both the Red dragon pie and the Courgette fritters. The vegetable salad with it was the best I've had. Definitely be returning ?

Bill's Canterbury Restaurant

It's all about going the little extra that makes the difference. The staff are always bright and friendly, especially so, if you're accompanied by a pooch, and that reminds me, Bill's is now offering dog snack menu, so our had some Denzil's snacks while we ate.Today the Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Seafood Linguine mains were spot-on, delicious, fresh and hot. Our only sides were a flat bread, a few olives, and the House Salad. With a couple of soft drinks and fizzy water, I had spent £70, reasonable for the occasion.

The Bridge Arms

I’m not being hyperbolic when I say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. My partner and I went on a Sunday and both went for roasts - I went for beef, he went for pork. Both were out of this world. The beef was akin to the best fillet steak ever, plus they filled the Yorkshire pudding with some slow cooked brisket - so SO good. Everything else - gravy, hispi cabbage rolls, herb crusted carrot, cauliflower cheese - was just as remarkable. Oh and the focaccia and butter, which is complimentary, is more than excellent. The wine was delicious, too. And the cheese! Omg the cheese. Additional shout out to the staff, who were so lovely. If, like us, you’re staying at the nearby Pig, please ensure you book (at least) one meal here. If we lived closer, we’d be back often.

Lovely restaurant with the best food locally, so nice to have a good sit down meal with excellent staff and surroundings. Been going there for 15 years now and it never fails, love it!

Old Butter Market Canterbury

A lovely bright English pub with wonderful rustic interiors. Directly opposite the entrance to the cathedral, the pub invites you to treat yourself to a pint from the large selection of fresh draft beers.We didn't eat, so we don't rate it.

County Restaurant at ABode Canterbury

This was a real gem. We loved the concept with several smaller dishes to share, and the quality of the food was superb. Service was very attentive and top class. Maximum value for the money.

Griffins Head

Good old country pub that has been modernised sympathetically. And loved the big open fires. Staff were lovely and friendly and there was a good selection of food on the menu. We had mains of belly pork and smoked haddock which were delicious. Would definitely go back. And special offer from Monday to Thursday.

Only a 4 star on food but not a problem with the food it's the coffee they seem to have changed it and I no longer like the flavour.Also I dislike the cardboard cutlery.

It's sometime since we had a McDonald's. PLEASE STOP pushing customers towards the DIGITAL ORDERING, it doesn't suit everyone. Also may I suggest the burgers aren't as fat as they used to be. I enjoyed my Big Mac, but I'd have enjoyed it better, had it been as fat as I remembered. A very nice young man filled in a survey for me, really respectful and nice chat.

Mermaid Inn

Team of 7 went this evening for the quiz night,had a great night will definitely go to next one. Staff friendly and attentive land lady lovely couldn't be more helpful,and man reading quiz questions was great fun and very friendly too. We will be back to try the Sunday roast too.Parking: Small village so parking limited but managed to find a spot.

The Chequer Inn - Ash

just had a glorious Easter Sunday roast with the family. granny kids and parents cleaned their plates. fresh crisp veg, nice Yorkshire puddings, nice tender meats. delicious dessert. and all for £100for 5 including 2 courses and drinks and tip. I wish we had a local like this.

The Tyler's Kiln Public House

I had my birthday party here and it was brilliant. Stuart (excellent chef) made fantastic tasting bowls of food for the guests which were delicious. The variety was excellent and all of it was incredibly tasty! The pub as always was incredibly welcoming and full of fun. Byron and Leah were as always fantastic and they really worked hard to make the evening outstanding. Thank you!

The Refectory Kitchen

A bit of a wait to get in, testament of the quality of food here. The coffee is amazing the breakfast grill ups are some of the best, although not a fan of the beans but everything else is simply amazing. Service is top notch, will have to come for lunch one day. Thoroughly recommended if your willing to wait 20 mins or so to get a table.

Cornwallis Fish Bar

This local fish & chip shop is pretty awesome. A variety of food selection. The food is always fresh. The staff are very friendly & polite & their chips are amazing. I would recommend this chip shop for your lunch or dinner time.

Nando's Canterbury

This Nando’s is probably the best of the bunch (and I’ve visited a few!). Food is always served quickly and to the highest standard, the staff are friendly and talkative, they do their best to accommodate your needs and are always careful to ensure that you are satisfied. I recommend sitting upstairs with a nice view over the historical streets.I also can’t get enough of the perinaise - I fully recommend it.

I’ve been having both takeaways and eating in here for years. Such lovely food, and excellent service. We go for Thaipas - as in Thai tapas - we just order a load of starters and have a lovely smorgasbord of Thai food ???

The Drapers Arms

Attended a Christmas quiz. The quiz master was comical and got the crowd involved. Hard questions but great fun. The food is lovely but pricey. Food came out fairly quick but dishes weren't cleared for a while.

Royal Inn

Tonight was our first time eating at Royal Inn and I’d go as far as to say it’s the best Chinese food I’ve eaten in the UK. Everything is cooked fresh, perfectly seasoned and not overly salty, not gloopy or full of MSG. I love trying lots of different Chinese dishes but often end up leaving so much but here we finished everything. Not to say the portions are too small, just a perfectly balanced amount. The team are super friendly, especially the owner who took great pride (rightly so!) in telling us how her husband was freshly preparing everything. The wait time between courses was also spot on. The restaurant was quiet when we were visiting in January but it’s nicely decorated and the food and warmth of service is the real star of the show. Cant wait for our next visit!

Cinnamon Indian Takeaway Canterbury

Ordered from here a couple of times now and found the food to be the best curry I’ve had in Canterbury. I order veggie curries, and the mix of veg is good. Good arrived within an hour and hot. No complaints.Vegetarian options: All curries can be done veggie or paneer.

Countryside Kebab & Pizza

Our first experience, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was quick to order on the website and we were able to collect our two pizzas and cheese chips within 15 minutes. Pizzas were very good, and I loved that the cheese was actually melted on the chips haha. Very happy and will be returning in future to try other things ?

Tacos Locos

We popped in for dinner before a theatre show and they were accommodating when I told them we were under a time limit. Had fajitas, pork steaks, chicken burger and enchilada and they were all very nice. The cocktails looked good but didn’t have time to sample them sadly. Maybe next

What a charming place. The food had a unique flavor that we really enjoyed. The place was spotless, and the owner is wonderful. The staff were super friendly too.

Great evening, the waitress Millie Grace was attentive, polite and could tell that she enjoys her job and or speaking to customers couldn’t fault her at all, the staff working this night was great all round, the food tasted incredible and we would return, thankyou prezzo staff.

Wanted to view upstairs seating area as worked in this space for 13 years in the 1950/60's when it was the Co-operative Insurance Society offices. Interesting change of use. Only had coffee.

An oasis from the madding crowd. Good service and good coffee as you would expect from this 'chain'. The space at the rear removes you from the hustle and bustle of the main street.

The Fordwich Arms

We have dined here for a special occasion. The fire place was on and it added to overall atmosphere.We went for a longer menu. It was one of the best meals of our lives. Especially the lobster was just amazing. Every little piece was perfectly executed and balanced. Oysters were delicious as well. And the wine selection is very extensive.Parking: The restaurant has its own parking. Some spaces have EV charges.

Great caff. Lovely staff. Free parking and WiFi. Lots of space. Not really cosy but OK place to work on a laptop all morning. Great community feel. Great coffee.

The Ballroom

Went to the Crash of Moons Club, and saw three bands including Chopchop and The Brackish, who were excellent. Nice venue, high ceilings, excellent sound, reasonable price bar though quite limited options. The toilets weren't great with no lock on a door that didn't close easily and no toilet paper. In spite of that I would happily return for more Crash of Moons Club!

Fryer Tucks

Amazing chippy with friendly staff. My grandfather ran a successful chippy in Folkestone for years so I know a good chippy and this is by far the best in Canterbury. Prices are very fair too. Highly recommend.

Come here quite often for Karaoke on a Wednesday, nice atmosphere and friendly enough staff, can get quite busy at times but good enough for a bit of fun and a laugh!

Great coffee, cozy environment, excellent service. I got some work done, but there were also families having lunch and seeming to have a greta time and enjoying the food. Highly recommended!

Saint Smokeys Bbq house

This was our first outing to Smokeys at the new location. Its a great location, the interior looks amazing and it has a nice vibe. I ordered 4 thighs with 2 sides chips and coleslaw and we both had a beer. It was nice, the portion size was good but the chicken was a little dry and I would have like a little more cooking for the chips but it did taste good. My husband had a half chicken with chips and corn on the cob and he said the chicken was lovely but the corn on the cob wasnt, it was warm as if it had been sat in hot water. Sadly our first beer (peroni) was warm too. However It was really busy so I can assume that they had needed to refill the beer fridge.I love music as a background, and they had a DJ which was great apart from it being a little too loud to hear each other talk.The servicr was fast, the waiters were really friendly and very attentive.Although we enjoyed our meal the food wasn't as good as the last time we went in the old location not sure if we will return.

The Phoenix

The Phoenix is one of the last of Canterbury's proper "hidden gem" pubs. This is a traditional, family-run pub where you can sit and relax with a lovely Sunday roast, pop down for great live music on a Friday or even take part in the fun but challenging pub quiz. It has plenty on offer (including a dart board) but the very best bit is the cosy atmosphere. The landlord and landlady are lovely people and certainly take good care of their patrons. Thoroughly recommended!

Oriole at the Lime Tree Cafe

Beautiful coffee shop with a cricket ground view. Sun is just facing the cafe. Planty of natural lights and lots of indoor plants inside. They have outdoor sitting and WiFi, too. They have allocated parking for the customers. Accessible toilate with separate baby change room . Also, a book shelf with books and a few toys and crayons for kids.

Sunrise Cafe

Lovely people their food always makes a hard day easier to deal with. Really friendly service and great portions for a very reasonable price.The tuna baguettes and chicken nuggets are better than McDonalds.Cannot recommend enough honestly, we eat here almost every week when we can.

We went here for bottomless brunch Saturday it was extremely busy every table booked.. our waitress Maddison did a great job very nice kept our drinking coming food good wing amazing and loads of them!! Pizza could done little more cooking I prefer mine crispy but was still nice. Definitely booking here again ?

Nice pub to go to in Canterbury. They also screen matches so the atmosphere was quite good. The drinks were also very cheap which was great. Good for a few drinks!
