Beautiful old pub. It was very busy, but that just added to the cosy and comfortable

I went with family to this pub and it was my sister who had chosen it, so knew nothing about it beforehand. There looked to be a nice beer garden outside and inside had a nice atmosphere, lovely beams and felt quite cosy. Now I'm not normally a fan of sunday lunch, since its hard to beat your own mothers cooking (I'm sure everyone says that!). So I was very pleased to see different options on the menu that weren't your traditional Sunday choices. Almost everyone in our party had a different choice for starter and main and all the choices were very much enjoyed! The service was great with the server asking what sauces we wanted before our food came out, definately a rare feature these days. Lots of pubs would do well to do the same, as who wants to wait for sauces when then meal has already arrived? Overall everyone enjoyed the meal, the service and good value as well considering the quality of the food. I have to say I thought the honey soy (and was it ginger, I can't remember) ribs were great. It's a shame that we are not local, as otherwise we would all be back here in a heartbeat! Definately recommended if you are in the area!

We had a lovely meal here, its difficult to get to as its down a single track road, and being so popular parking can be a problem as the car park fills very quickly, but overall well worth the visit

Me and my wife Sharon came here for my 57th birthday, i ordered a Chicken Tika Masala and she ordered an eggs benidict sadly this was not on the menu, after the lovely waitress (Kirsty) gave us the menus we both ordered the roast dinners with beef.On the way home we both saw a Hedgehog crossing the road which was lovely.

Had a fabulous mealAnd drinks. All four of us had diff starters and mains and all were delicious
A lovely old pub that has retained its character. Unfortunately, only had a set lunchtime menu which was limited choice. Suggest they update their website so that visitors are aware.

Roast heaven. This is the gold standard of Sunday Roasts locally. Tender new season kentish lamb, roast potatoes with crunch but fluffy inside and al dente vegetables (with cabbage lightly tossed in a little olive oil). Companions had beef and slow roast pork belly (fat beautifully rendered and perfect crackling - I pinched some), both praised similarly. Leave room for the desserts. Service professional and just right despite being very busy. Not a gourmet pub but a very high level of cooking plus a lovely and very historical setting.

Had been recommended by a friend and it didn't fail in ticking all the boxes. Attentive staff, 10/10 quality food, great selection of drinks. Great outside space and clean will presented pub.

Best Sunday roast by far in East Kent. We sometimes see a good review for somewhere else and try it but then always wonder why since we should've gone to the Yew Tree. This is the gold standard.
