We often visit the plough as it’s our go to for food, drinks or both.Staff are always friendly, food is always great and the service provided whether it be from the bar staff or from the restaurant .The fire is an amazing addition when it gets a little colder in the evening but the outside seating it lovely in the sun with the stream

Always enjoy coming for a meal or drink at the plough. On this occasion we had a lovely chocolate bomb dessert with pretty cocktails to finish up our meal. We were served by Lucy, who was very friendly and attentive.

GO TO ANOTHER PUB ! The staff are not attentive at all, they weren’t busy but still managed to forget to bring water to the table after being reminded multiple times. We was served the bill before asking and no efforts were made to make us feel welcome. The overpriced food was something that I would have expected from a weatherspoons. Will not be going back and would not recommend.

No stars for anything I'm sorry to say. My daughter and son in law booked a table for the three of us for Mothers Day as the menu looked so nice. £33.95 for 3 courses. No attention when we arrived no indication of meals being unavailable or short on ingredients. We ordered our drinks and had to send one back - badly drafted Guinness. We ordered our food, I ordered the king prawns in chipotle sauce with feta and ciabatta as a starter and when my dish came, it was 4 prawns in sauce with ciabatta but no feta. Apparently no feta left and no suitable substitute so I sent it back and ordered soup instead. Not a great start -how could you run out of Feta when it was on a set menu and you knew how many covers you might need? When it came to the main course it was lukewarm/cold and again many items listed with the meal were missing e.g crackling to go with the pork, pesto to go with the celeriac steak (which I was told was like eating cardboard without the sauce to accompany it). I could go on about other missing items but that would be labouring the point. The pork belly I ordered was tough and not cooked in the way that pork belly should be cooked. At this point I felt a strong desire to complain to a manager as it was such a let down. She was apologetic and asked if she could replace or rectify anything but unfortunately it had gone beyond repair at this stage. Our table was booked for 17:45 which I don't think is late considering that bookings had been taken for much later. When it came to not paying the bill and explaining why to another manager he suggested that had we booked earlier we would have had a better experience!! Pardon me? If you are serving food until much later than 17:45 (which they were) shouldn't you be ensuring that all of your customers are getting the best experience? He blamed his staff and said they were new. Needless to say there were lots of very dissatisfied customers sitting around us tonight. Perhaps the plough needs to focus on its customers and investing in making their experience the best possible instead of just cashing in on a significant annual event. I won't be returning any time soon, such a shame.P.S The table that was very wobbly last spring when I came for lunch is still wobbly. Please consider changing the wobbly tables.

Lovely lunch at this beautiful gastropub. Quite busy, even midweek, but we were well looked after by Paula and Elaine. Food was delicious- particularly the prawn starter and the fish and chips.

Visited this afternoon with my photo group having checked that we could get tea/coffee and a snack. Paula had sorted an area for us and we were made very welcome. The coffee and dessert offer was very good value, I had a latte and a chocolate brownie with icecream for £6.95 which I think is very reasonable. The seating ws comfortable and the ambience very pleasant, I shall go again

Ensure front of house is present as soon customers enter the building as we arrived and waited for a few minutes and no one was there to take us to our table.
